I used to have a multimedia pc right by my tv to browse the web off the couch and whatnot. Recently downsized just using my laptop for everything, including driving the tv for couch web browsing. Seems to be working out allright... except for my keyboard. The current keyboard I'm using is a Logitech Wii keyboard, but since my laptop on my desk about 10ft behind the couch, typing anything has been a less than stellar experience. My wireless G700 mouse seems to have no issues reaching the laptop, but this keyboard hardly works. I'd like to get a replacement (fits better than a fullsize on my laptdesk when using the mouse as well) with some good range, any recommendations? Mechanical would be great but honestly I just want it to work, don't care if it's bt or rf.

Thanks I was thinking of the K810 or the apple wireless keyboard due to good reviews and being available locally, easy return just in case the range's inadequate. Really not much choice out there it seems.

Only thing about the K810 is that it does not include a BT USB plug. You'll need to buy one unless your laptop has built-in BT.

Bluetooth's built in, and based on my research today will give the k810 a try I think. Everything else seems either cheap or gaudy. Other than this keyboard I'd have to go in a different direction, like an htpc remote with a keyboard or perhaps an xbox controller with built in keypad.

The problem with a keyboard equipped htpc remote like the Rii i8 and others is that it just doesn't seem that substantial, I'm afraid the buttons will have a cheap milk-jug plastic feel to them. Motorola used to make one but it looks like I'm way late to the party. Perhaps my fears are unfounded, but it doesn't look like any brick and mortar stores around here carry this sort of thing... So it looks like I'm back to the k810 keyboard
