My LEPA G1600W PSU went belly-up last night after only about a year of continuous, normal use . It made a pop and fizzle type sound and smelled of burnt electronics so I figure that one of the capacitors blew. I ordered a new one and it'll be here on Monday, but until then I have no way of testing my components. The most I was able to do was plug in the 24 pin from a PSU that was in an old HP (that only has a four and 24 pin and some SATA...) to see that my mobo's power LED and CMOS switch LED illuminated. As for actually seeing if it boots and everything is undamaged, I'll have to wait...I probably should've known better than to pay for overnight shipping on a Thursday evening

Any guesses as to whether my stuff is fried? There's supposed to be a fuse inside the power supply that prevents dangerous currents (probably the incorrect term) from reaching everything right?

I had a Lepa G1600 fail as well, it didn't kill any of the components though. I replaced it with an EVGA 1300 Supernova and haven't had any problems since.

I'd love nothing more than to ditch it for a new PSU - only problem is I already sleeved this one painstakingly in MDPC with heatshrink - even soldered the double wires and splits on the 24 pin/8 pin EPS combo (basically hell to figure out). For this build I'm sticking with it unfortunately. Did yours make a pop sound when it died?

I don't know, i was in the next room when it happened, but the smell was horrible.

The RMA process for Lepa wasn't terrible though, took a few days for it to get set up, but they sent me a replacement quickly once they received the dead one.
