You might think that the fallout from the NSA disclosures by Edward Snowden would have some sort of half-life, but apparently not. Citing major concerns over Verizon’s data sharing with the NSA, Germany has opted to drop Verizon in favor of Deutsche Telekom AG.

Revelations of U.S. spying have prompted Germany to overhaul its internal communications and secure government networks. The decision to cut ties with Verizon are the first actions as a result.

The Germans dont have half assed memory like 'murica parlament lol

Nothing will come of this, its all political. Just like the spying the American government did on their country, Germany bitched for a while and then simply shut its mouth. The EU are all bought so nothing will come of this, the spying will go on.

They should still be sucking our dick for ending the cold war, because whatever "spying" verizon did i'm sure is nothing compared to what it was like living under Soviet rule in east Germany.

Wait, they dropped an American company in favour of their own (government sponsored) company?

Sure, excuses are nice but c'mon..

Only if we (in the US) could drop them for another provider with better service and policies.... Oh wait, we FUCKING CAN'T!!!!!
