Still rated as the best sub $1000 projector out there by Projector Central and probably still the ONLY sub $1000 projector with lens shift! I paid $899 for mine.. they are currently at $749 so I'm thinking $699-ish for the shell shocker??

If you haven't done PC Crysis 3 from the couch on a 106" screen you haven't really done Crysis 3 :)

This is a good projector, although IMO the best value is the Optoma HD131Xe which can be had for $700: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00E4JEDWE/ref=ox_ya_os_product_refresh_T1

Their specifications are more or less the same, but the Optoma does 1080p 3D rather than the BenQs 1080i 3D, and it uses the active shutter glasses, and the bulbs are long life and unbelievably cheap.

So if they are the same price and you plan on lots of 3D, I'd do the Optoma personally... well, I did do the Optoma.

I just ordered a 1080ST this morning and paid $890. Got tired of looking for deals.
although if it' sonly going to be a $200 dollar difference I don't mind...the w1070 is $749 on Amazon anyway and I still chose the 1080ST.

The 1080ST is a very nice projector, i've had one for a few months now, it's amazing how well the short throw works.

As far as this deal goes for the 1070, not really impressed :/

I have the W1070 and love it. They go for $850 and up in Canada so $720 sounds like a good deal lol. I never really used the 3D on my 50" plasma but 3D on a 120+ inch screen is awesome.

man i need a new projector to replace my aging Epson 720 Home Cinema but none of these have lens shift.... which makes mounting super simple. :(

Epson has some of the best PJs on the market IMO

Yeah -- I love the 1080ST.

And who says you can't do 1080p 3D?

. I had the 3010e, color stared to fade at only 3000hr mark. Early bulb burnout on 8350, not once, twice. Not to mention the crosstalk was really noticeable in 3d. Had it calibrated, shooting onto a 92" Stewart screen. I have had a number of the LCD projectors now and can't stand them in general. Colors always seem off and are not as crisp as a DLP projector. Not gonna matter anyways, doesn't seem like 4K DLP is coming to projection. With all the new 4K 85" T.V.s and bigger coming out under 10K this year, its only a matter of time projection (other than large screen movie theaters) go the way of Plasma/DLP.

Be careful of the new Epsons.. response time on the newer 3LCD projectors is still around 30-37ms after switching it from "fine" to "fast" processing. I do like Epson's color quality though and prefer to watch football on them.

Someone asked about the W1070, it sits around 24ms. I'm not a FPS fan but I have played Crysis 3 on my W1070 with no issues. Also works great for Skyrim in 3D :)

Just picked up a 1080ST and should arrive today but my screen will not arrive until next week. Really looking forward to it as I have heard nothing but great things about these BenQ PJ's.

I project directly onto a light brown wall with my 1080ST and it's amazing.

does the 1070 come with a carrying case? My 1080ST just came with a really nice nylon bag and I was expecting to have to buy one. I'd value it around $40ish bucks? If the 1070 doesn't come with one then that drops the price difference between the two to around $100ish :)
