Tom Clancy's The Division E3 2014 Trailer

On May 15, 2014, it was announced that "The Division" will be delayed to 2015, according to an anonymous source inside Ubisoft Massive studio. "The game engine works well, it's not done, but works well. The actual game development has barely started, however," said the anonymous insider.

Sounds great. Welcome to Watch_Dogs 2.0.

The idea, the story, the engine, the graphics, all look amazing, and are exactly what I want in a game. As it's shown, I'd happily pay 60 dollars for a fully working, smooth copy of this on PC.

However as history has shown, Ubisoft will downgrade the graphics, have buggy leaky code, and instead of it being great, it will be a piece of shit.

I'm like mulder -- "I want to believe"

But god damn, us PC gamers have been tricked so many times in the past.

are you referring to "the story" presented in this trailer? Cause I watched it and hell, I have no idea what the story is lol :)

It definitely looks amazing.

Who came at the end - stalkers? ;)

I have no idea how true/accurate this is so take it with a big grain of salt, but the son of an acquaintance has been asked to play-test the game last week and he said the alpha he tried looked nothing like what was shown during E3. In his opinion it looked very bad compared to what was demonstrated on stage.

Oh cool another pre-rendered CGI trailer that will look nothing like the final release where do i sign up NOT!!

EA have decided to show footage of games far from completion because that’s how usually release them #EAE3

Dear games companies. If you want to excite me about your games please show gameplay & not multi-million $ cut scene trailers. Thanks. #E3

Woops did someone tell it like how it is?

I still remember the 2013 game play E3 demo. The voice acting to me seems really lazy. The game play seems like a gun toting batman and robin sort of deal. I will keep an open mind though. I really liked Blacklist and hopes it's will be more like that.

it's ubi, so I could EASILY believe it. We saw what happened with watch dogs, and until it's in my hands, it's a safe bet to assume Ubi will strip it down, or fuck it up.

very nicely done trailer, I almost teared up... then I realized the story was the same 'ol stupid "bad guys show up, NOW FIGHT!"

All of Ubisoft's games looked impressive - look up the "gameplay" footage. The question is, will any of them look anything like what we just saw? Any takers? I'm guessing they strip out the key ingredients to these looking so nice like dynamic lighting, advanced mapping (specular, normal, tesselation, etc), particle effects, etc etc.

That, or they're aiming for 720p24 on consoles.

Massive is working on this one
they did a great job on World In Conflict so i think they can turn out a good game

I was excited for this game, but after what happened with Watch Dogs my expectations have gone into the toilet. I hope that The Division is not using the same engine as Watch Dogs...

They have to keep the hype going somehow ^_^... there will be plenty that continue to ride this bandwagon for a long, long time

It looks like it only runs at about 5 fps. Maybe they should drop the resolution a little and go for at least 30 fps.

Ubisoft did an excellent job with AC4, especially the sailing parts, but Watchdogs was such a mess especially in the online parts. I'm conflicted, though if Nvidia has Division promo codes with video cards, I'll probably still pick the game up. Nothin beats a brand new $20 AAA game :D

30 FPS isn't cinematic enough, stop ruining the art of Ubisoft!

I'm hoping they go for a truly artistic endeavour and just present their next game in pages, FOR ART!

I inclined to believe AC4 was good because initially it was supposed to be a different game entirely; i.e. not an Assassin's Creed game. That's what made it feel fresh-ier/-ish when put aside the other games in the franchise, IMO.

Wait you mean you would rather read the BOOK than play the game? You do know Tom Clancy is a writer and the developers are borrowing this ideas and making games out of them right?

So POWER TO BOOKS! READING IS KING! ;)
