CD Projekt RED introduces new footage of its upcoming release of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt along with details of the contents of the three separate edition that will be offered. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will be released next February on Xbox One, PS4 and PC.

Out in Feb but pre-purchasable on Steam now. Be the first to experience buyer remorse or are you one of those post-purchase rationalization people? Its Win-Win!!

If you've got 1 and 2, put your keys in GOG.com and you'll have access to DRM-free backup versions, and get 20% off Witcher 3.

Not a fan of the previous games?

The first one was good, the second was ok. I was just commenting on the stupidity of pre-purchasing a game 8 months before its released based on a pre-rendered video or two.
It might be a great game but nobody can say for sure yet and buying now just for the plastic tat they throw in isn't going to make a bad game any better.

Oh I won't pre-order anything but this game should be fun. Well worth buying imo. The game isn't perfect but has so much more artistic sense and feel to it than other games it is worth the price of admission. We will see though. Any multi platform game these days is suspect.

Looks awesome. but witcher has for some reason always been meh to me. I tend to lose interest early on. I will try to go back and play the others.

CD Projekt RED has a good track record with PC and likely will buff the graphics even more like they did with 1 and 2 after its out
so if they say its in game footage i trust them
check out the trailers for 2 and compare them to the game

As a rule of thumb, I'd agree that preorders are a bit silly - especially when there are no preorder bonuses - because all the collective preorders amount to a massive interest free loan for international megacorp game developer.

But CD:project Red is not EA, is not Activision. They're one of the last good guy, PC-focused game developers. As such they're one of the rare companies actually worthy of a financial influx earlier, they've got a proven track record. They've also got 90-100 people that have been working on this title, which can't be cheap.

When a developer promises "a game world 4 times the size of Skyrim", I'd generally roll my eyes. But when CD:project Red makes that promise, I give them my money because they've never lied to me before.

That's what has my interest. Narrative, characters, gameplay, and overall color are things that CD Projekt Red executes on every time. And I have no doubt that they can improve on Skyrim's aging open-world barely cohesive gamestyle. And Skyrim was good, for what it was.

I'll wait. The Witcher games have great stories and presentation but the controls are just awful.

?

They require getting used to, but they're not supposed to be direct copies of other third-person action RPGs- they'e supposed to be different.

I bought Witcher 1, it took me 2 years to play it because ever time I loaded it up I was pissed off at the controls... Then... one day... I had nothing better to do so I installed it for probably the 5th time and 'really' gave it a shot and...

Hook line and sinker. I bought up the second one instantly and am looking forward to this installment. The only problem is, now I have the desire but I don't have the time. Son of a B.. hehehe Maybe this winter.

NEver played W1 but loved W2. This will highly likely end up on my SSD.

It's worth grabbing off GOG and giving a playthrough- the graphics and effects artistic enough to not feel too terribly dated, and the rest of the game is magnificent- including the unique gameplay.

Umm aren,t Griffon's endangered now.

I will purchase this game as the other 2 were quite good and had good support so I will grab it AFTER release and support this company. I would like the statue thing it looks cool, however I really do not need any more stuff just to collect dust.

This will be a day 3 purchase for me.

Preordering software is a silly concept which, IMHO, needs to go away. Especially paid beta tests. Although personally id take beta/alpha access over 8 months of lost interest for no reward.

Well i already pre-ordered my copy. I saw it on steam the other day, and was like sure why not.

This CD: Project Red are great publishers with a proven track record. They are PC focused and their previous games show that. Controls are strange yes, but so is skyrim and other RPG that you attempt to play with a mouse and keyboard.

I personally play with a 360 controller and all is well. Some games you play with a controller some you play with mouse and keyboard. Witcher games are controller games in my eyes, just like Transformers, Skyrim, Fallout, Batman, XX racing game.

I rarely pre order games. Maybe 1 a year.

That being said I pre orded the PC Collectors Edition.

I am actually glad they announced it as early as they did. It will give me 8 months to put money toward it.
