What is a good over ear PC head set to use that is inexpensive but still good?

Headset or headphones? Title and original post mentioned headsets (headphones+microphone generally), but since you've linked two headphones...is that what you're after?

I find that most headphones with the two bands across the top are pretty comfortable. I could not find a decent set that also included a mic. I compromised and ended with the corsair 1500 but had to "modify" them with a band of elastic to add the second band at the top. Not too bad but still pretty uncomfortable for gaming longer than 2 hours.

Well is it better is buy head phone and mic seperate? Looking for head phones that are comfy, sound great and not pricey! Same for mic, I do have the zalman mic tho

You are going to need to give us a specific price range. Headphones range from $30 to $15000. You would be best served by a headphone and either your zalman or a modmic. Sennheiser 518,558, 598, AT M50, philips fidelio x1 are very popular and comfortable models. Can't go wrong with any of them. Also, a creative z series sound card would be a good investment for gaming sound.

Well just to give you an idea I own the mono price dj set. They sound good enough for me but the comfort levels are not there. I think I paid 30 for them.

I just picked up a pair of Sennheiser 558's and a mod mic. Perfect set-up for me.

I wish there was a local shop here that caries these to test out how they fit

Bump still looking for headphones. Im thinking of just getting the antlion mod mic for mic. What is the best headphones for comfort & SQ in the 100 range? & what is the best sound card to pair it up with?

Oh they are comfortable. They are also closed. So the sound stage is smaller and for gaming that is not good. Buy the 558s from amazon. I am pretty sure they have a 30 day return policy.

How do the 558s sound for music? I kind of want an all around headphone for everything. I went to BB today & they had the seis 650 & wow they are comfortable...

Not as good as the 650s but they do sound similar. The 558s have less detail and bass than the 650s but still work great as an all around headphone. They are the 650s little brother. It is what I settled on after a lot of trial and error.

I would prefer to have a Stax setup but I can't afford it.

Space is the 558 basically the best bet for the price they are selling? Are just want the best for the money Im spending in SQ & also comfort is a big one*
