nope.. the extra free +4 turbo multipliers died with Ivy Bridge.

Wait for DC (June 3 release or something like that?) and you can get the i7-4790K? Will probably be expensive, though.

This! If I remember right, the price is supposed to be $320-330 so it would be worth it to wait. Should be less than a month away.

I bought it. A 4770k, arrives on Monday! (couldn't wait). Thanks to all.

If the 4790k releases this week waiting would be the ideal but if it doesnt release until September, like the newest rumors say, then going for a 4770k is the way to go *if* he needs to build now. I'm in the same boat. I want to build now. I'm not waiting months more. It's either going to be a 4770k or a 4790k. This week will decide it.

I bet it will be released sometime in the next week or so and no later than roughly 40 days from now.

If I were you I would have just waited until June 15-ish (maybe 30 if you're patient) and if they didn't release by then, I'd just fire off on the 4770k. Kinda late for that though.

Yeah, latest rumors say actual release mid June. I can live with that. I guess the info comes out tomorrow due to the time zones and all.

thanks all. I think I did ok, is it not the 4790k going to be "identical" to a 4770k just a higher 100mhz+ clock increase!?

Architecture wise it is. The main difference is the TIM is improved so you dont have to delid your chip. But you can still overclock a 4770K to 4.5 with little problem and youd have the same performance.

Yeah, I pre ordered from NE. I hope their date is correct and Intel doesnt screw up shipments.
