Definitely like, I have a huge soft spot for the oldies :)

Makes me wish that I held onto my Win 98 P-3 Geforce gaming rig to play the classics.

You could probably find a dual cpu p3 setup for about $200. I've got a 6800GS agp card that has the unlockable pipes if you ever need it.

I'm in the process of picking / scrounging the parts to build mine, The only PIII I still have laying around is a dually, may go with an Athlon. Win98 FTW!

New setup at work. They gave me an Alienware Aurora R4 to replace the dell desktop I was using.

Got my duel rig setup done finally. Some awesome setups in here, making me jealous :)

My work setup for the summer. Too lazy to move anything, so I bought a new setup for the summer.

The same setup when loaded with stuff I got back from the field (I rent gear for my clients)

And just for you to know, this is my setup in my flat (posted it few months ago, I guess)

I finished this build a while ago but thought I’d post a few pics : - )

This is a professional build for 3D Modelling, Animation, Dynamics Simulations, and 3D Visualisation.

I built this workstation primarily to reduce final production render times, and with 32 Logical CPU cores, 10,752 GPU Cuda cores, 64GB of DDR3 Quad channel memory, and super fast Solid State Drive caching, make this single workstation lightning fast, whether rendering in applications that utilise multi core CPU's or single/double precision GPU compute.

The CPU’s score 26.2 in CineBench R11.5, and 2293 in R15 at stock speeds, and the system renders Nik Clarks 500 iteration 3DS Max Iray test in under 6 seconds.

A detailed architectural scene or interior set to 11,000 iterations will usually complete in approx. 11 minutes using Iray ( 3 GPU's only). I use the CPUs for Mental ray rendering, and one GPU for the system so I can continue working while scenes render. On a tight deadline can use all GPU's and CPU's at full load in Iray without the PSU's breaking a sweat.

The system has dual Enermax 1500w PSU's (3000+Watts / 12v 250A) , so never have to worry about power requirements and everything can run at full load without having to fight for power resources or clock down.

I modified an old Xigmatek HDD cage and fitted 2x 140mm fans in the 5.25 bay area. so the case has 6x intake fans in Push / Pull for optimum cooling.

Very happy with the system, and so far, Touch laminated wood, has been 100% stable under full load in production rendering. As for gaming, GTX Titans in 4-way SLI are awesome :D

^ Welp im pretty sure we can shut this one down boys. That rig is amazing.

When I power up, south east UK dims, the moon draws closer to the earth .. And just before a singularity is created, the post screen appears and humanity is saved :D

Tyler-Durden,

I have CPU set for PhysX when rendering in Iray and SLI disabled. When gaming, 4-way Sli, and Auto-select, which is always GPU 4.

Thanks for the comments!

I just stared at your system for 15 minutes...
Have seen many awesome systems, but this one combines them all!
Euhm... ever thought about puttting some waterblocks on those titans? *runs away as fast as he can*

The next person that dares to post his workstation will have to be very brave! :D

Just waiting on my left kidney to sell on ebay, then the 4K monitors!!

na, I'll be happy with a bigger desk and a third monitor at some point.

Gonna wait a bit longer on 4K for the prices to drop.

AIO coolers are as close as I want to get with water and this system at the mo.. Don't think I am brave enough for my first attempt at custom water cooling to be on a system like this :D

If a manufacturer comes out with a decent 4K monitor in 16:10 format 3,840 x 2,400, I'll be more tempted :D

Any manufacturers listening? ... anyone... .. .. . :(

Hhnnnggggg... You're living my computing dream.

Hope this isn't a rude question, but I'm curious what the build cost was on that system? Don't have to answer if you don't want to.

Either way, very nice setup.

Hope this isn't a rude question, but I'm curious what the build cost was on that system?

Looking at today's prices:

4x Titan @£750 = £3000
2x Xeon @£1500 = £3000
Motherboard: £400
Etc
IOW between £7K and £9K.

Prices aren’t exactly that bad but not cheap. I started this build in may 2012. Started with one E5-2687w processor, 32gb ram and Asus Z9 motherboard, and added a 3GB GTX 580, 1200w Be Quiet power supply, Xigmatek Case, fans etc from a previous build.

The CPU was £1379 retail, Motherboard £420, ram £200. I changed the GTX 580 for 2x GTX Titans in September last year @ £769 each, and added the second CPU and memory in December last year @£1372 and £300 respectively. The memory had increased by £100. I added the 3rd GTX Titan and changed the PSU to an Enermax 1500w in February @ £750 and £305 respectively, and added the forth GTX Titan, second PSU and changed the case to the Enthoo Primo to accommodate for dual PSU’s in may @ £520, £310 and £190 respectively. The fourth GTX Titan was brought second hand from Ebay but like new, in retail box. So including other things like cable extensions, SSD, HDD’S, fans etc the case and internal components alone come to around 8.3K excluding monitors etc.

Other than a third monitor and triple stand, I don’t plan on spending any more on computer parts for a few years : - )

I am my Business :D :D :D

I work freelance.

....We all say that after a big build...

Yes definitely :D

A few pic's on here showing Wacom Clintiq 24" HD... sooooo tempting.........:D ££££

But 16:9 looks wider even though you're just giving up vertical pixels. You like wider right? right!?!

a 24" 16:10 monitor has exactly the same amount of pixels horizontally as a 16:9 monitor. It has more pixels vertically which appeals to professionals as there is more room for menu bars, ribbons etc, meaning more workspace.

They look wider, but are exactly the same width :)

16:10 1920 x 1200
16:9 1920 x 1080

Whats the best way to link photos on here?

I tried linking photos from my DropBox account, but thy came up blank on the forum, so I linked from my own website server which worked, but its eating up bandwidth :(

How do I successfully link photos here from a DropBox Account?
