HTC One Mini 2

While this new phone isn't revolutionary over the Moto X there are some notable things that I like what they did with it. I also think the hardware is more then enough, so much that I doubt anyone would tell the difference if they were on an A7 or A9/15 based SoC.

It did compromise on picture processing, but it maintained the same music quality. They "sacrificed build quality" but gave it a grippy side, personally I'm a big fan of adding grip to the side of the phones.

I hope this gets released to the US soon so I can see how much this thing costs here.

One thing I'm worried about - Bigger battery, but it was paired with a quad core. I think this would of been better off with a better dual core.

Somewhat disappointed in its specs, not that it affects me, as I have the One M8 anyways and am really happy with it. But I hate how they can't at least put 2GBs of RAM into their "Mini" phones. It doesn't need a top-end Snapdragon 801, but 2GBs of RAM helps a lot for multitasking and running services in the background. It just seems like the worst place to cheap out for me when the differences in performance can be considerable.

Other than that, it seems like a damn nice Mini phone. The battery size bump and quad-core should give it better battery life, I think.If utilized properly, the quad-core should be more power efficient than the dual core. I'm interested to see how the camera compares to its bigger brother's 4UP when it has a much higher-res 13MP.

I think it's a no frills camera sensor honestly. It was mentioned this thing was cheaper than the sensor on the M8, plus it's a single LED flash.

With regards to the 1gb of memory, that will depend on the price. If it's priced cheap enough I think it will hit a sweet spot. I'm a bit interested to see how well the screen performs, if it has the same quality of the rest of the phones it should be a steal.

That thing is hardly mini with those dimensions. It needs a better soc and more ram.

Considering it's no better than the original mini, then it better be cheap. Real cheap.

Especially since the Moto G matches most of its specs, other than the camera and construction.

Kinda tired of seeing all these midrange phones with the quad A7 S400 variant rather than the dual Krait. Haven't seen any indicators that android is multithreaded enough to justify the former.

I know, right? It's like these oems are getting lazy with piecing these things together.

Or maybe they are worried we won't see a speed benefit between a quad and dual core.
