Hello everyone. I just sold my Asus GTX Titan 6GB 2688 original model. I bought it used for $500.00 I ran it for about a month. I just sold it for $650.00.

I am now thinking about getting a Zotac GTX Titan Black AMP! 6GB, I have come across one of these cards for $925.00. It is a local sale, and It seems as though It has just been opened, tested, and a good amount of buyer remorse has come over the seller who is only asking $925.00. I belive this is why he is selling it.

Also, I plan to get a cheap 4K monitor from newegg soon, they have some for under $500 sometimes. So, I noticed 3gb of vram is running out some times.

What kind of performance should I see from a regular titan, to a Zotac AMP Titan black?

I plan to overclock it as high as possible.

If I buy this card. I am going to keep it for 3 years. NO LESS lol.

What would you guys do? Get the Zotac and call it a day? And have at it?

Or what?

The Titan Black is more of a worstation gpu, if you are gaming go with either sli 780tis or tri fire r9 290s. Check some reviews on 4k gaming. 290x and 780ti single cards barely give 20-30 fps average on medium settings so basically not playable. The Titan black should be comparable to a 780ti (slightly faster) so you will be wasting your money UNLESS the intention is for a workstation.

I found these! I just hope that they do not have elphida memory chips in them.

$699.99

TWO R9 290 Cards

Cheapest GTX 780 is $429.99 on newegg. And they only have 3gb of vram, if im gaming out 4K it will run out.

I would rather have a GTX 780. But, the R9 290 cards just murder it in Xfire. lol

Or does anyone know which R9 290 cards have kHynix memory? Or Samsung memory chips on them? I don't want a video card with elphida memoy chips.

are there going to be any cheaper 6gb GTX 780 cards?

You'd have to get SLI (or Tri-SLI) Titan Blacks in order to actually have a reason to have a Titan Black instead of a 780 Ti (that is, as a single card there's no reason to have a Titan Black). On the other hand there would be no reason to SLI Titan Blacks if you could SLI a 6GB version of the 780Ti (as far as gaming goes). The workstation-ish price of the Titan Black is getting entirely wasted when just used for gaming. But IIRC there's currently no version of the 780Ti which has 6GB. I'm not entirely sure how 3GB would run out on a single card, though. Even at 4k, I would think you'd be running out of FPS long before you saturate your vram.

Yep, this is how Nvidia is sometimes. I could put this into a logical formula and have people asking "why isn't there..."

You could just bite your thumb at Nvidia in general and get Crossfire R9 290's or a 295x2. A bit more vram if you really think you need it, and more performance for the price.

Well the reason I got the titan is because I was helping a relative with graphic rendering and it was only $500. But, im not really doing that anymore. Although I am using AutoCad2015 trial. But, Im not sure if im doing enough to really utilize the titan.

$700 for the two R9 290 cards seems like the best way to go. It is faster than everything else. I just hope they have Hynix memory or Samsung memory.

Just buy used 290s that have warranties. I would avoid open box unless its a company that would honor an open box RMA. I don't think Powercolor is one of those companies.

You are running two 7970 cards in xfire. Honestly, What problems have you ran in to? anything?

Alrighty then! I am waiting on payment to clear paypal. Then I am going to make a purchase.

Mean time, I have these options open. And I still have not made my mind up.

Option 1) XFIRE-R9 290's 4gb OEM $700 "two video cards"

Option 2) SLI-GTX 780 SC ACX OEM 3gb $860 "two video cards"

Option 3)Zotac GTX Titan Black AMP! 6GB Retail Box $925 "one video card"

Option 4) GTX 770 SLI 2gb or 4gb Retail box $600-$675 "two video cards"

option 5) GTX 690 Quad SLI 8GB used ebay $800-$900 "Two GTX 690 video cards = 4GPU's"

Option 6) GTX 780 SLI 6GB NEW retail box $1200 "two GTX 780 New 6GB buffer cards in SLI"

Option 7) Tri Fire R9 290, or 290X OEM $1000-$1100 "three R9 GPU's in TRIFIRE"

Ok, lets start the voting!

Do you really base purchases based on forum voting? Instead of doing what normal people do such as looking at tons of online reviews?

If so, COOL! I vote for the Riva TNT 2. Or ATI 9700 pro all in wonder. That TV tuner on the AIW is sick bro.

going beyond 2 gpus begins to cost you a great deal in efficiency... option 1 or 2

You just have to look for the right deals, there was a seller on ebay last night selling 52 sapphire r9 290 for $200 + $15 shipping each.
