These I will try across all my rigs, this driver is not the same as RC1 from what I can see.

Nice to see AMD reaching out to more people by E-Mail.

Did they fix the problem where playing video off websites crashed the diver and caused it to recover?

Did you check the little box that says "Enable Graphics OverDrive"?

That may have been it but I loaded a saved profile to get it working again. Forgot about that setting. Seems silly to do the agree to deal and then have to select that too. :)

just switched from the 13.12 drivers to these.

I haven't done much testing, but everything works like it should overclock and all.

Still rocking at 1200mhz and 1675mhz memory + .200 volts power tune 50% on my XFX 290 Black edition with water block, unlocked to 290x.

Hmmm

Not that it really bothers me because of my internet speed, but 281MB for a driver? Why on earth did they put Hyrdravision in with it?

Installed desktop crossfire & mobility drivers with no issues.

All work ok so far, no noticeable improvements though.

Read the "BETA" 14.4 thread which was far from impressive. Seems like the kinks got worked out--hope so DL process just completed while typing. 14.3's ran flawlessly w/mixed display config +HDMI even w/multiple instaces of games simultaneously running. "Crosses fingers"!

Is anyone having problems with multiple displays not being detected?
If thats not messing up for anyone, I'll give these a try.
The last beta removed 2 of my displays and wouldnt give me them back, I had to revert to 13.12.

Nope, 2 screens attached by DVI, both are fine. Installed 14.4 on top of 14.3 beta.

I'm still getting black screens on my Sapphire 290X cards in cross fire. Been happening for months. Both cards do it. RMA proved worthless as the cards run 3Dmark11 for hours and would not qualify for RMA. But they crash under heavy games like Far Cry 3. My only solution was down clocking both cards to 290 specs. Seriously disappointing. Few sites have carried this news although the forums are still littered with these unresolved issues.

14.4 does not help at all.

I'll be scraping these pieces of junk for 780 Ti in SLI soon.

You are not alone, I have had nothing but problems with crossfire 290x's some people have em and some dont. I cant find a solution for my issues so I bought 780ti's and never looked back. I was going to use my 290x's but Im gonna post em for sale soon.

Just got 2 BDOD's in a row playing Diablo 3. Back to 13.12.

Did they fix the problem where playing video off websites crashed the diver and caused it to recover?

Held off installing the WHQL driver until after my league race. Just installed it and it seems that the video acceleration issue is fixed together with the gfx anomalies on the desktop. Will do some test later today with all my games.

XFX 290 DD Crossfire. Still get black screen. Went back to the leaked press drivers, so far those provide the most stability.

when you guys get this 'black screen', is it a crash? or does the monitor just got black momentarily?

Crash or unresponsive PC practically every time.

The only time it has done it without crashing was when running NFS Rivals full screen.
I cannot play it full screen as it gives a black screen ever time.
But I can alt tab out and kill the process.
(I was able to play it in a Window, but its far from optimal viewing and is boring anyway so I dont play it now)

All other black screens result in no way of getting control back without a reboot.

The screen goes black, you basically lose all mouse and kb function, turning off/on the monitor does nothing, unplugging and re-plugging does nothing, basically anything short of a hard power off wont fix it.

Is hydravision missing on 14.4 drivers? AMD states it's suppose to be part of the package.

I have no idea what's broken. My 280x wasn' even able to boot anymore as I was getting a black screen on boot. I RMA'ed it and I'm getting black screen crashes in diablo 3 after a random amount of time.

Already wiped drivers and reinstalled latest ones and checked mobo, ssd, bios and firmware. I'm thinking about selling it?

You know, my gigabyte 280x is a little bastard too with drivers. Again I had to go back to 13.12 because 14.4 induced screen scrolling during map loads in BF4 and some desktop issues with primary and secondary desktop.

Clearly AMD isn't even testing 7xxx/280x performance whether gaming or desktop when internal testing. The crap honestly should not even be happening with as mature as our cards are.

I would get rid of it and move on... You'll be happier.

to be completely honest

I think the 13.12 drivers are the best drivers for the Radeon cards. They have released betas and such and even the new 14.4 drivers which are not betas seem to have some issues.

Not sure what is up with the driver camp lately.

I went from 13.12 to 14.4 and one thing that drives me nuts on my muti monitor setup is that when I'm away for a few hours (my computer runs 24/7) the displays turn off as normal but when i come back all the windows that were on other screens migrate back to the default screen.

I haven't really noticed any performance change then again I haven't exactly bench marked it either. I plan to do some testing between the 14.4 drivers and the 13.12 drivers to see if I should just stick with the 14.4 drivers, even if its quite annoying.

Clearly they are barely testing at all!!! How these issues make it out the door even in a beta is mind-boggling.

There are certain issues with something Diablo3 does. I was getting STOP 0xA000001 with 13.12 and 14.4 drivers until I changed HardwareClass to 2 in D3Prefs.txt and turned off shadows in the video options.
