This promotion has been going on for some time now, but looks like it will be closing off registration as of May 8th. If you want a top line game from EA free each month, just shuffle on over to the Origin site and sign up before May 8th.

The title will change each month so don't worry if this particular one is not for you. Although, once you click download, it's yours to keep with no strings attached.

Requires origin, pass.

I would rather pay for the game and have it not require bullshit.

Only on this forum do people hate getting free shit.

I would rather lick the hairs on my ass then put origin on my system and oh fuck EA.

Stop hating you sheep.

After 3 years with origin I don't see many differences between it and steam.

I dislike and don't use steam for most of the same reasons. Origin simply earns more of my ire because the company behind it is actively screwing gamer's over.

So no the games aren't free, they come with a price. The price is installing EA's own spyware and tracking bullshit on your computer.

I like how people assume they are important enough to be 'tracked and bugged' when the majority of people are so boring and typical, that they would be no different than hundreds if not thousand of other PC nerds.

I use Origin for what it does, deliver games.

Got some serious problems in your life if you think the worst thing out there is EA, a -video game- publisher.

How about the fact that games launch and run natively from Steam, yet when I want to play BF3 via launching from Origin, I get dumped to a webpage to actually verify my account and launch the game from the webpage. :/

lol

That's a knee slapper

You guys are some weird tin foil hat wearing dudes. The game is free. Do you really think that EA is gathering more than Steam? It's not like most of us aren't logged into steam whenever our PC is on. You can always kill the client

It's the webpage is the server browser, pretty much the best feature from the game if you ask me.

The games are not free. In exchange for the games you have to give EA a confirmed email address and install Origin with all the tracking & marketing that goes with it. I'm sure a lot of people wont have a problem with that.

Id forgive them of their shenanigans if they would just release a new Madden on Origin. :(

You'll be tracked by someone regardless of Origin. Facebook, Gmail, Hotmail, Steam, Twitter, the list goes on.
Whats the worst they're going to find out, you play a game after midnight?
Maybe the information they gather might also tell them what games people actually want to play and buy. Therefor they can try to provide these games. They are a business like any other, they only survive if people want their product. It's in their best interest to find out what we want and provide it.
BF4 is fantastic.
I only ever run Origin anyhow when I'm gonna play BF4, it is not set to run at startup.

Install Origin, click download, get game for free = Legal

Get a torrent (or ftp, or Usenet), get this same game for free without the hassle of having a loader = Illegal.

Ahhh, similar argument of "It was on TV for free, so why can't I download it legally from some 3rd party?"

Right from their page:

Why is Origin doing this?
We're gamers, too. We appreciate you making Origin your gaming home ... and besides, who doesn't like free stuff?

This is what it's come to, so few people use Origin that they actually have to give games away for free to try to lure in customers. Origin is the Google+ of digital software distribution.

Not a sheep, been through the grinder with EA support for MONTHS with no solutions.

I dream of the day that EA goes belly up and someone buys all the good IPs they ruined. Then puts them all on Steam and reboots them all.

That's what I dream.

I also dream the original Rareware team from the late 2000s gets back together and delivers an epic PC FPS game.

Dislike Origin, but still leagues better than uplay garbage.

Pick your poison.

Just a way to make waves for Origin.

Not interested. At all.

You can have uPlay, Origin, and Steam all on the same system right? Is that shitty? I'm pretty sure I understand why everyone hates EA... I just never really played many of their games to begin with--I'm a little bewildered. Is Dead Space a waste of time? I never have time for any of these fucking games I buy anyway. I end up playing games I already know so I don't have to waste time learning. I feel like I usually buy games mostly just to support developers...

Dead Space is a great game. Probably one of my all time favorites. It's a lot of fun playing in the dark.

I'm curious to know what possible future offerings might be.

Yea EA sucks but Origin is not a bad thing. If anything, Origin a good competitor to Steam. And the idea that they give out a free game every month is a really nice thing. It also means that EA is losing to Steam in a very big way.

Steam's Tracking and marketing is almost total. Right down to time played and your complete system info and configuration. How nice of them. There is a reason old-schoolers hate Steam to this day..but endure it. Steam is much more invasive than Origin is.

EA screwed my fiance out of $100+ worth of Sims stuff by not having it work, even when it's all on her Origins account.

Needless to say I wouldn't trust their free shit to work, since their paid stuff won't work either.

"EA Origin user base exceeds 50 million, Battlefield 3 Premium subscribers now over 4 million"

That was a almost year ago in July so it seems Origin and EA are doing just dandy..
