As spotted by Siliconera, an outfit called Night Dive Studios has filed trademark applications for No One Lives Forever, The Operative, A Spy In H.A.R.M.'S Way, andContract J.A.C.K.Those, of course, are the primary and secondary titles of the three games in Monolith's cult classic No One Lives Forever series of early 2000's stealth/espionage games.
In an email, Night Dive CEO Stephen Kick told us (and everyone else in the press) that while he is currently unable to comment on future plans, "our team has a great fondness for these games and our hope is that they will one day be re-released."
We may be able to play Cate Archer again!

With Homeworld and possibly NoLF making a return, I'm very happy at the moment. I still have the original NoLF 1 and 2 CDs, plus Contract J.A.C.K. lying around in boxes.

I'd love to see an updated version of NOLF,one of my favorite games from the early days.Just the right blend of satire and action,it captured perfectly the spirit of the old British television series like The Avengers..

I believe Activision owns the rights to NOLF so it's surprising that they'd care enough to let anything happen with it.

I would like this along with a new installment of Austin Powers before it is too late.

I still own the original, I'm well up for a new version.
It was buggy as all HELL when released, I trust they will do better this time :p

I forgot all about that game. It flew under the radar a little, but it was really good.

I would buy an HD release, I missed it when it came out originally but I remember seeing and watching what a cool game it was.

Man, I hope so. I had a BLAST playing those games. :)

Awesome news. Both part 1 and 2 deserve the "HD restoration" lovin' treatment all the way.

I'd love for someone to make a worthy part 3 but I doubt that's ever going to happen... kickstarter?...

All great games, except the Jack, have them all. Been meaning to fire them up to see if they run on 8. Would love to see the games redone with a modern engine.

This is FANTASTIC news!

I lost my retail copies of NOLF 1 & 2 several years ago

I'd would be fine with just an overhauled HD version.

That being said if they do a recreation I hope they do it justice; the NOLF games are in my top 10 of all time.

NOLF/2 were two of the best games I ever played. That said, I wouldn't buy an HD re-release, I'd pay good money for a new game in the NOLF universe though.

I don't know how much of the old dev team is still around especially after THQ Activision died off. I'd be very worried of a third game or even a reboot a la Tomb Raider being done in the hands of a group of developers that have not played the game at all. Worst being that any new game in the NoLF universe having none of that kitchy 1960s humor, art, and characters, which made the game a lot of fun to play. It may end up like the Iron Man movies-- replace Communists with modern day terrorists-- and how many games to date have had Middle Eastern-based terrorists? Too many to count, and it's getting about as tired of a subject material as many zombie and US military-centric-saves-the-world games out there.

Huh? THQ had nothing to do with NOLF. They were developed by Monolith who is now owned by WB Games and published by Fox Interatice (the first one), Sierra (the second), and Vivendi Games (Contact Jack) all who are now all owned by Activision Blizzard.

This is great news! I actually just finished re-playing NOLF 1 and 2 and those games still hold up really well. I had a blast with both. I would love an HD update or a new game in the series.
