I don't really know what to call this build,
But as of right now, I am in the US Army, stationed out of Germany, whose unit has recently returned back from Down-Range.
One of my soldiers has done an amazing job down range, and throughout his military career.
Long story short, he returned less than a month ago, and more recently received his House Hold Goods back, ie his electronics, PC..
This is where tragedy stuck.. My soldier leaves base for one of our 4 day weekends, only to return to his Barracks room being broken into and nearly all of the prized possessions stolen. We currently have an investigation pending with our MPs, but since my soldier had not had time to do a High Dollar Value Item Lists for his room and all of its contents, its looking like the military or JAG will not refund him ANY of his lost belongings.

Since I a PC builder, or so I like to think so, and I know this Soldier very well, I want to secretly build him a dream PC. Nothing too crazy, as I'm not familiar with custom liquid cooling loops and such.

So as of right now, this is what I have parted for this build.

Motherboard: Asus Sabertooth Z87
CPU: Intel i7 4770K
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Glacier 240l
SSD: 1TB Samsung EVO / 500 TB Samsung EVO
GPUs: Dual GTX 780s
Case: ???
PSU: Corsair AX1200i or EVGA 1300 G2

I have already purchased the 500TB SSD, and Cooler Master Glacier 240l

I am wondering how and who I would get into contact with about getting Sponsors for this build, as I am only a SGT and cant really afford to purchase all of this things for him. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.

Before you continue any further with your build you may want to seek the guidance of your fellow NCOs, as well as JAG. Your build for this Soldier may cause perceived favoritism by the other lower enlisted Soldiers of your unit and might also violate the gift policy.

I do understand what you at saying. With that being said I am not the only NCO helping out in this build, as our entire NCO staff is helping out, also he happens to be the only "lower enlisted" as a CPL (P). We all figured it was the right thing to do since he has given so much recently. Thanks for the feedback.

Sponsors would be more supportive of a program that benefits a team rather than individual and that would be more inline with the military creed. Don't know if things have improved but in the past shared computer center at military installations were rare and the one at Fort Ord had relic Bell & Howell Apple II Pluses. Instead of one overly powerful and expensive computer you probably have better success promoting a shared computer center with more reasonable but still very useful computers. Also, it helps to have support and visibility from your CO or higher up the chain.

So taking all feedback into consideration, we will be greatly "downgrading" the components of this build. My section and I have told the CO and 1SG in regards to this and their feedback is same as those above. They feel its a great idea, but the "value" of the build is too high. They advised us that if we do continue with the build, to lower the price of cost. So we will be gathering older components for the build. So this will be the new build component list:
Asus Z77
Intel 2600k
Gtx 770
Corsair ax750
Most of this components are already owned. The only components that need to be purchased are the 2600k and custom cabling. The other NCOs within my section are Tech guys and all have gaming rigs so the components are from leftover upgrades. Thanks again for the feedback. Once I get most of the parts on hand I will begin to post pictures of the build.

if you post in the for sale forum here a WTB (want to buy) thread listing your needs I am sure you will fine some members here who will give you a good deal.

I dont have anything you have listed...

Great idea and a worthy endeavor!

looking forward to seeing this build completed
