EDIT: Almost forgot about CPU cooler clearance issues, if any, with Corsair250D case and mini-ITX board components. I was planning of just getting a CM 212 EVO CPU cooler. Any other/better suggestions ($40'ish or lower) would be appreciated as well.

Finally building my mini-ITX build using the Corsair 250D case. The only thing I have little info on is the motherboard.

Only "must haves" are:

-Intel Z87
-Wireless NIC.

I'm going with on-board video to start but eventually I'll turn this into a high end gaming rig with dual slot video card. Probably move my Titan over to it once the next generation comes out but want/need a working rig soon.

Other probable specs:
- Intel 4570k or 4770k
- 16 GB.
- 256GB SSD.
- 2 TB HDD.

tl;dr = I need a good mini-ITX board with wireless NIC & Z87 chipset.

Hands down one of the best, if not the best, Asus ROG Maximus VI Impact. I'm also waiting on parts to arrive for my new Corsair Obsidian 250D build.

I have the Z87N-Wifi from Gigabyte. It's decent, but they don't seem to have their drivers all done up correctly. It works fine, overclocks etc., but there are niggling issues like powered off USB charging for iPhones that's not currently working and I had to manually set up Intel Rapid Start...which ended up being useless because the motherboard immediately wakes back up after putting it to sleep lol. In hindsight I'd rather go all out with a high quality Asus board as mentioned above.

Thanks for the super quick responses. I'll check out the boards you guys/gals listed. Keep the good and bad and ugly reviews coming.

I edited my OP but wanted to add: Almost forgot about CPU cooler clearance issues, if any, with Corsair250D case and mini-ITX board components. I was planning of just getting a CM 212 EVO CPU cooler. Any other/better suggestions ($40'ish or lower) would be appreciated as well.

I would probably go with this Asrock one:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157374

There are nicer, but they make a decent jump in price.

Wow. I just found out that the Asrock has TWO mPCIe connectors. The WiFi module is in one slot on the top of the board. And another on the BOTTOM of the board that I never saw in pics. I thought:

1 x half mini-PCI Express slot: For WiFi + BT module
1 x mSATA/full mini-PCI Express slot

was some misprint (double printing) on the Newegg comparison chart. LOL. Guess I could have bought a mSATA SSD instead of a Samsung 840pro SSD. Live and learn I guess.

Anyways there is just not a lot of options as far as mini-ITX goes.

i recommend z87n wifi for best value. overclocks great and wifi is good

I went ahead and bought the ASUS Z87I-DELUXE board.

I have pretty much all the hardware for my build EXCEPT the heatsink/fan. I'm using G.SKILL Ares low profile RAM but I just can't seem to find a decent HSF that FITS and cools well. I'm going to use the optical drive bay so I'm height restricted to 95mm by my Corsair 250D case.

What AIR coolers are you ASUS Z87I-Deluxe users using for mild O/C of 4.2'ish GHz. I'll take quiet over MAX overclock.

Thanks for the help.
