If you happen to be shopping for a new motherboard, you should head on over to Hardware Secrets today and check out their review of the ASUS H87-PRO motherboard.

The Intel H87 is very similar to the high-end chipset for this platform, the Z87, differing from it mostly by the lack of overclocking features. It has the same characteristics in regards to the number of SATA-600 and USB 3.0 ports (six of each). It also supports RAID and Smart Response Technology, just like the Z87. Another difference is that the H87 does not allow the bandwidth of the PCI Express 3.0 x16 to be shared with a second slot. It means that, in a system with no overclocking and only one video card, the H87 and the Z87 will offer pretty much the same set of features.

So it's of no use to anyone at [H], why call it a 'Pro'? Anyone wanting a 'Pro' workstation would opt for the more expensive chipset boards, not nerfed gamer style board..

This was a timely article for me -- I use 1 GPU and do not overclock and am looking for a new board / CPU upgrade.
