Hey guys,

Its been awhile since I updated my computer but I thought it would be a good time to update my current Nvidia GTX 550 TI.

What is the best current video card I can get with my current CPU without bottle-necking. I dont really care too much about the best video card as the only reason why im getting is because of titanfall.

Current Setup:
AMD Phenom II X6 1050T
Gigabyte GA-890GPA-UD3H
DDR3 4GB 1300

I am in process of buying a 8GB ram to replace the 4GB but also wanted to upgrade my vid card.

Thanks everyone!

Eh, I wouldn't worry about bottleknecking from your Thuban that much, especially not on Titanfall, if what I'm hearing is true it's pretty well optimized, indeed.

I'd recommend a GTX 770 or 760

whoa 770 is pretty beast. I dont think im ready to drop that much money on a vid card just yet. thanks for the recommendation though. Makes me feel like I should buy a 660. Just wanted to make sure it wouldnt bottleneck. pretty excited.

You can get a 770 on Amazon for $309 just now (I just got a PNY one, I was going to wait for Maxwell but at that kind of relatively "cheap" price, I couldn't resist). I don't know if this is out of your budget but it's certainly not a lot of money for the card you're getting.

Titanfall is a game that runs on the Source engine, or a modified version thereof. It's much more intensive than Team Fortress 2, but that's not saying much. You can probably run it with medium settings across the board, with perhaps a few sacrifices. I'd recommend getting a GTX 860 or the AMD equivalent when those come out, if you're looking for an upgrade. If you've seen the 750 Ti, I think it's a good indicator of what's to come. The Project Denver (a little ARM CPU inside the GPU, in this case) implementation might allow you to slip by with your Phenom II for quite a bit longer, but we haven't heard much as to how it may apply to desktop GPU applications.

If you think the 770 is too much of a card, I'd stick with the x60's then like a 660 Ti, 760, or the 860 when it comes out.
