Ghash.io/Cex.io double LTC rewards for 1 week

It was fun while it lasted. Rewards were halved after the 25 g/hs mark, and by this morning it didn't make sense to keep on mining. On the plus side of things, I now have 0.5 LTC!! :p

Wow, that's kind of retarded. Promise double rewards, get too many people, kill the rewards. Just let everyone else leave until it stabilizes back to 2x multiplier. It's showing 2x right now.

Guys, look at the block rewards.... They are still paying double.

Out of all 60 blocks paid on the pool only one of the blocks was paid out at 1.25x.

Look at the "value" column of the stats for the blocks and you can see how they do the double payouts.. They basically make every block worth 100LTC Instead of 50.

Seems like monitoring the reward rate is best you can do, everything on that site seems to be updated live.

Thats what Im gonna do, as soon as a few blocks go at 1.25x I'll move to mining what I was mining before, because LTC is not very profitable mining right now if not doubled hah. On the plus side, I just now hit 24 hours of mining on ghash.io and I have made 12 LTC -- WOOT! :)

Yea, sucks they put that new little rule in there. Although I guess they had to.

It's also pretty scary that a single site has the power to get 51% of a networks hashrate in a 24 hour period.

Mining with 28ish MH?

times like this i REALLY need to finish setting up my VPN at the house so I can remote into my home network and point my miners to special cases like this.

Stuck at work with my 5Mhash pointed @ coinotron (litecoin mining)

Yeah thats a must... I have a SSH server setup to tunnel in if I am away from home.

Well, it appears that this promotion is pretty much self sustaining. Been tucked in just under 40GH for all except about 3 blocks since they changed the terms.

See this guy right here?

Yeah, a tiny part of what he's responsible for is making sure I have VPN access to my house at all times. :)

They changed the terms again:

0 – 25 GH/s x2
25 – 60 GH/s x1.25
60+ GH/s x1

I think they noticed Wafflepool moved half their hashrate in to take advantage of the double payout and are trying to stop it.

Personally, I ain't moving for now. My measly 1.5mhs isn't going to make any difference.

I was actually curious if any of the large multipools would target this pool for the bonus payout.

At 1.25 is it still more profitable than using wafflepool's switcher? I was under the impression it wasn't.

I think it's slightly more profitable. Even so, I'm hoping Waffle pulls out and lets us get back to the double rewards again. If only until the next time Ghash.io changes the rules

they should just block the wafflepool username and call it good or I guess we should point at wafflepool?

Waffle pulled out several blocks ago, according to their official thread.

Hashrate is going down at Ghash.io now.

Yea, I was making $8-$10/day with multipools. Last 24 hours I got 1.6LTC or ~$26. probably wouldve been ~$30 if it stayed double the whole time.

oh well. I'll ride this as long as I can.

I just got home from work and see that it is just barely under the 25GH/s limit for double rewards.

I'll ride this out for the week and see... I need more LTC anyway... apparently "LTC on Huobi" is the newest mantra that the LTC community is chanting. It's supposed to go live on Huobi on the 19th at which point all the fanbois are hoping that there are some rabid Chinese buyers hoping to get their hot little dollars on some cheap LTC or something. We'll see. It already opened on BTCChina and that was a sort of "ho-hum" experience. Oh, but Huobi will be better (or so I'm told).... I guess all the cool LTC loving Chinese hang out there or something. :p

Looks like someone missed the memo... been at 1.25x all night.

Unless that someone is Cex.io purposefully exceeding their adjusted goalposts so they don't have to pay out as much.

Depends entirely on the relative profitability of the altcoins being mined and how good the pool's switching algo is. I don't think any of the switching pools have consistently done >1.25x LTC for a while now since most altcoins aren't doing that great vs. LTC.

I'm not sure I'd put it past them.

At any rate, I'm still there for now. 1.25x is still better than I did at the multipools this week, and I don't like to do too much pool hopping. Makes the main rig unstable. That said, I'm gone for good if I can't my LTC out of there once their 48 hour minimum for new miners is up.

I figure enough people will get fed up and move somewhere else to get it back into 2x territory again, at least for a little while.

Other than that, I like the interface. It's at least a nice looking pool.

For the past little while the hash rate dropped low enough for 2x rewards... hoping it stays there for, well, I'd like to say until the end of the promotion, but we all know that ain't gonna happen.

Something's up though - they're stuck on block 531801. Showing two rounds with a 4x payout, too.

Edit - their Facebook page says they're aware of it and working on a fix.

They fixed it. Naturally, no payout evident for the last three or so hours of wheel spinning.

That's funny because I see my payout for that one block as .179LTC when my normal payout is around .023LTC per block.

Refresh it again because mine decreased and it still doesn't add up to the 11 rounds of what my average should have been.

OH, well, that's cheap of them. :(

But if 2x rewards stick around for a bit longer (and don't revert to 1.25x anytime soon), things might even out in the end.

Ya, I just wasn't refreshing in between... I figured it was adding entries so it was refreshing on its own. Guess that showed me.

My hash power is going offline until this storm passes. Power went out long enough to reset all my machines and I'm not going to take risks with lightning strikes.

They've sure done some wheelspinning especially earlier today, but I'm hanging out for the time being.

I do like the granularity of info available on the shift and block data page. Having your calculated speed, work, rejecteds, and payout for every shift/block is nice.

finally got around to pointing my 5Mhash at it... will see how it goes for the next day or two.

I gotta say - whoever designed the interface is GOOD, very good. Good enough that they should have a job working at some fortune 100 company. It's smooth, fast, not in my face, it's intuitive, and tells me exactly what I want to know EASILY (that's the trick)
