Yes, confirmed 4K@60Hz on a 28-inch TN panel for $869.

Comparatively, the Dell 28-inch is $200 cheaper than this, but only does 4K@30Hz. Boo, Dell! Boo!

For a cheap 4K panel, I'd say this is justly priced even though it is TN. Of course, if you can spare the extra $400, there is the 24-inch Dell 4K panel:

$700 when it launches in April according to this. Not sure when this is coming to the UK but I'm really quite interested in it. Semi gloss screen, 4K, 60Hz with good response times and no damned IPS glow. I also think it looks nice on the outside.

Wow, even better pricing than Newegg. $699 on Amazon. That's not bad at all. :D

Just horrible colour shift, right? Also, no ergonomic stand takes points away.

Not for everyone, I don't care about the fixed stand. The colour shift could be a problem. I like VA panels myself but just can't stand IPS glow. I've used TN panels before and found them alright for most things if calibrated. Not photo editing but gaming and browsing the internet. So looking forward to this either way.

Hate the stand. Absolutely hate it. On the other hand, its design is pleasing, the resolution is amazing, the quality looks good and there's no real alternative yet. I might just get it it.

I pre-ordered on Amazon for $700 lmao @ silly newegg and their price goughing....newegg not even once!....So now Asus has until exactly April 13th to release their version otherwise its the Sammy for me!

I suppose it's nice for high-res gaming, but I don't think I could stand the color shift. Especially on a $700+ monitor.

Do I want this? This has a fixed stand, correct?

I have 3 Titans. I'm still torn between one of these 28" 4k/60Hz displays and the LGUM65.

Well, I preordered it anyways, I suppose I can always cancel if I change my mind.

Alright. Being that it's only $10 more for me to go the eBay route I just might do this. I'm very tempted now...

Ew. I just thought of something. If I have a problem with it and I order from overseas I'll be screwed. I'm better off just waiting and buying from Amazon, that way I'll be covered by the US warranty.

Regardless of where you buy it from Samsung still has to warranty your display. And as far as returning it back to the seller in the event that its damaged, dead pixels, etc, etc, the seller that I choose has a mega high sale rating & feedback so I doubt any screwing will go down. I have bought several displays from Korean sellers over the last couple of years and had zero problems.

Don't get me wrong, I love Amazon, but I primarily buy from Amazon when I am on the fence whether or not I will end up keeping something. I have ZERO intention of returning the UD590 as I have been waiting about 37 years for a display of its capabilities & price point lol

So if I buy it overseas and I have a problem I will get US Samsung support? That's the only way I'm going to buy one this way.

Does anyone know of this monitor, except larger? 28 inches is a bit on the small side for what i enjoy from my monitor.

Thanks :D

Then move it closer to your face lol.

More importantly does this display use PWM???

OK, I gave in and bought one off ebay. Hope it's good!

Welcome to the Dark Side Wag. I hope we get em by Wednesday, Korean sellers are usually very very fast with the shipping!

I think the smooth Sammy 60hz 4k is gonna make my Seikis 30hz 4k taste like ABC gum lol

I hope you ordered through Fatwallet for your 1% back.:)

Will I need a converter to use this in a North American electrical outlet?

No...no fat wallet :( Next time gadget....next time!

Good question about the power converter....Im gonna go out on a limb here and say no, we should be fine.

I want to know if it's PWM and how good/bad the AG coating is. Please tell me, when you get them! :)

Not really too keen on these 4K TN panels. Sure they are cheaper than IPS and you get 4K res, but you get all the problems of a TN.

So any reason not to grab one of these off eBay from Korea? Looking to upgrade my 120hz screen with a 4k screen, mainly for gaming. It's either this or the 24" Dell, but the 24" Dell is currently close to $700 more in Australia.

Don't go IPS for gaming.

I'd go with one of these over an IPS 24 inch personally. Especially when the difference is 700 dollars. that's crazy.

So does the seller matter? A whole load of sellers, all from Korea.

Also, does this come with the cable I need for 60hz at 4k? I currently use a DisplayPort cable for 1080P 120hz, are the cables the same?

Your displayport cable will be fine. As long as your ebay seller has high an good feedback you should be fine. I linked the seller I used on the other page and I believe Wag uses the same.

That one is $20 more, but their feedback is higher than anyone else. May as well buy from them, at least I won't be the only one!

EDIT: Bought! Here's hoping everything turns out okay. Ended up costing around $30 more because of Paypal, but it's still under $900 which is alright.

Is the expected delivery date much sooner than on amazon? I'm seeing mid april there but Ebay sellers seem to just have them in stock. Probably something to do with Korea, but does anyone know for sure? I might jump on one of these if i can't find something else relatively quickly.

The seller says I could get it by the 17th in Australia, not sure how true that is. I really hope so though.

My eBay seller replied and said we'd need to buy a multi-plug. Damn, now I have to try and find someplace local that has the right one in stock. What kind do I need to get exactly?

Right cant we just use another AC cable? Thats what I did with my Catleaps. Monitors tend to have removable ac cables, while tvs generally do not

Looking at the power adapter in this newegg photo it looks like the power pack cable is a two prong, so unless you have a two prong to standard av cable lying around your gonna need the adapter :(

My current Samsung monitor has the exact same cable, am I right in assuming that would work?

Im 99% sure it will work....they make these things pretty interchangeable nowadays. Good news for me too, I found one of my old catleap multiplug adapters (I knew there would be a reason to hold on to that stupid thing lol) so I am good to go!
