Google Barge Moving To Stockton

No kidding Einstein, didn't think I had to point the obvious out, but I guess trolls don't see well. You obviously have never been to Stockton, yet feel good with bashing it, nothing new. There is a lot of good things that do go on here, but the media hardly ever reports good news about Stockton. They prefer to point out the bad so their city looks slightly less crappy. Sacramento and Modesto both have a high crime rate as well, and both have suffered at the housing market fall.

The only difference in those cities was that Stockton was ran by fools that bet on the market never going down. Stockton has a long hard road ahead of it, but there is a lot of people finally getting involved to turn it around. If Stockton can get the crime problem fixed then the city will recover quite nicely.

I was in Stockton yesterday. Fortunately I was done with work just around lunch, so I made sure to drive over the Altamont pass before eating so I wouldn't have to watch my back at the cash register.

Stockton is an epic shithole, end of story. I'd rather live in Bakersfield and that's saying something.

Really it reminds me of Iraq when I think about it. If you have to work in Stockton, get in, do what you need to do, and get out ASAP. Try not to stop anywhere you don't need to or interact with the locals.

When uppity people hear that their Bay Area condo huge down pay buys an entire house in Modesto / Stockton on an actual lot (and just 90 minutes away), they talk crap. Get used to it, it never stops.

"And just 90 minutes away."

Yeah what a deal. You only have to spend 2 hours a day extra commuting to live in a place with grey air and thugs around every corner.

I doubt you have even been to Stockton.

More like 3+ hours, both morning and evening. Nothing is more fun than waking up and leaing for work at 5:30am, then finally getting home from work at 9pm to scarf down some food and going to bed only to do the same thing again the next day.

thats not really uncommon in any metro area. I know quite a few a few people who commuted from the central valley to San Jose. All I know is that I was not willing to do that horrible commute all for the luxury of living in valley :p

Oh, and when I drove on today, I was surprised that I could see the sierras from the altamont, because every other day it's grey and hazy. But the thugs are still here. Pull your head out of your ass.
