Guys
I have an hp computer (old one) and I just bought an dual vga pci video card for it and I like to know how do I get desktops on both monitors without having one monitor just having the start up task bar and other monitor having all my desktop icons? Because I would like to have both monitors have same icons and task bars on it.

Right click > Screen Resolution > Under Multiple Displays select Duplicate these displays.

They will both do the exact same thing though. Otherwise, I don't know how to have both been shown, but display other programs/windows.

so you want both monitors to be mirrored in terms of desktop icons and task bar/start menu only?

Maybe Multimon does what you want?

If you want taskbars on both monitors, upgrade to Windows 8 (that functionality was added then).

You will either have to use a 3rd party multimonitor tool or upgrade to Windows 8/8.1.

As for mirroring of desktop icons... not sure why you would want to do that, but I'm guessing it would require making duplicate shortcuts with a slightly changed name (i.e. Firefox and Firefox1 shortcut on the desktop, one on each monitor).

You have start button and task bar on both independent displays on Windows 8, I don't think this was a feature available in 7...
