If you’ve missed seeing new adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog, you are about to get a sensory overload. The Sonic Franchise is coming back in a CG animated series, a new game and of course, toys.

I caught this info yesterday and, well...

Horrible redesigns. Just plain horrible. Hopefully the game (which is the most important factor) is solid, but would have loved something akin to Sonic Generations.

They have never stopped making sonic games, so there is no return of sonic.

I remember watching the cartoon a lot growing up. And the original games were always awesome.

The original cartoon is on Netflix, if anyone wants to check it out. It's...pretty bad. Urkel does the voice of Sonic.

You know they haven't figured out how to make a good Sonic game when they have to remake the character designs. You know, instead of looking at the horrible transition from 2D to 3D with Sonic, which is still the core problem with Sonic games. A lot of times, new 3D sonic games take over your controls, and you just sit a long for the ride.

As much as I loved Sonic Generations, they haven't made a better Sonic game then Sonic CD or Sonic 3. Also, I guess the people that were going to make those stupid Looney Toons must have been hired by Sega.

As a fan of the Genesis era Sonics..this pretty much just depresses me more knowing they are continuing to beat this horse. Generations was at least semi decent, but ugh the rest aren't even playable. Another animated series? What? The first one wasn't horrible enough?

I agree with the original creator..."Let it Die already". Come up with a new IP.

oh, they got much worse than the first one. From the 3 or 4 series that I have watched the first one was the best.

Not a fan of the redesign, what's up with the long legs:confused:. And Knuckles looks like he's on steroids.

I maintain that Amy is the most annoying video game character ever. Why Sonic's stalker keeps coming back game after game really amazes and disgusts me. Sega just wants to keep making the same mistakes over and over again. Like hiring the same terrible rock band for every Sonic game since Adventure.

Oh well, it's not like I was going to watch this show regardless anyway.

As a kid who grew up with Sonic, and an avowed fan of the Genesis games to this day, I wish Sega would just let him die. I've lost track of how many times they've tried to reboot the franchise unsuccessfully.

Sonic was cool at the time because he was edgy during a period when being edgy was actually unusual. I guess "edgy" now means tape on their shoes, turning Knuckles into a linebacker, and...yeah, no idea why Amy is still there. I get that in this day and age you can't -not- have a female character, but if there was ever room for Sega to get creative, it's there.

I don't get the dislike for the 1st TV series. Sure, it was corny, but it was a kid's show. I was a kid who had a Sega Genesis, ergo, I liked it. It even provided unintentional comedy material years later that I rediscovered in YTPs. PINGAS! :)

There was another Sonic the Hedgehog cartoon airing the same time. The one you're referring to was on weekdays and a better one that aired on the weekends. It was a little confusing when I was a kid that there were 2 different Sonic cartoons with different voice actors, plotlines, and animation quality.
