So I have never built a machine before, I wanted something I wont have to touch or upgrade for quite some time and will be able to run every game i throw at it at maxed out settings. Let me know what you guys think or changes I can make. I included everything I'm buying. If its a bad build or I need something else please let me know. Let me know what you would change. My budget is 2500 and this build is at 2350. I really appreciate the help.

I don't think you'll need anywhere close to a kilowatt--if you need to find budget $, I'd cut that down a lot.

Re. the TP-Link TL-WDN4800, I installed the same one in my wife's computer, and it stopped being able to authenticate the wifi passcode. It was totally kosher for months, but now regardless of how many times you verify it is actually the correct passcode, it always says code mismatch. I inserted a cheap USB wifi dongle, and it connects no problem. I haven't been able to figure out the cause or find a solution. Uninstalled the device in device manager, wiped the drivers, reinstalled the drivers. Nothing made a difference. It will connect to my wireless extender just fine, but it refuses to authenticate the passcode for our main wifi router. Have eliminated user error. Only thing I haven't done is physically move the card to a different slot--not that I'd expect that to make a difference.

I've had much better experience with my linksys pci-e wifi card--it's a workhorse and has never given issue.

Otherwise, the parts are solid. I'm surprised the overall cost is so high, though the components you listed aren't priced--where are you buying from?

I would agree on the motherboard. I'd go cheaper on the CPU, motherboard and case.

Hmm okay, I really liked the case do you guys have a favorite in mind? I wanted the best performance for my money. Im fine with spending 2500 for something over powerful. Do you guys have a top end processor mobo combo in mind?

You still haven't answered the sticky questions. As for spending money on an x79 platform just because you want to, that's fine. Without answering the sticky questions I have no idea whether or not you're meeting your requirements to it's full potential or just wasting money.

Can you also be more specific on that RAM? I am assuming it's high speed RAM above DDR3 1600. Complete waste of money if it is. You'll gain 1 - 2% over DDR3 1600.

As for cases, Dangman has a nice list of cases that I tend to steal occasionally. Okay, so that was a lie. I steal it all the time. Haha.

Answer the sticky questions they linked you to first and then save some cash. Highest end for gaming is a waste in certain areas. These guys will point you in the right direction.

Not worth spending the extra money....when gaming you can only go so high.
Save money and don't buy high end.
