Nice.

Does anyone know how this works? I already have some of these. Do I get th eoption to gift them to others?

The current trend is that you link your steam account to humble bundle, hit a "redeem" button and it automatically goes to your account. There is also a gift box icon, which then produces a custom link that you can send to someone.

I have a dozen games from various bundles I have codes for that I'd like to trade people for other stuff / sell, but I'm sure that's highly frowned upon (against the rules?) on most forums AFAIK.

The only Civ thing I'm personally looking for is Brave New World, which hasn't dropped enough in price to grab yet...and I'm still trying to not suck in GnK.

+1

I have used almost all the options for Humble Bundle and it works pretty well. I have redeemed on Steam and gifted, used Android, e-books, etc.

Trying to not suck on what difficulty?

bought the bundle as ive never played any of these games. should i just start with Civ 5? which of these is the easiest to get into?

Prince was pretty much a guaranteed victory for me in the original and G&K, but brave New World I feel has gotten significantly more difficult. Now at the prince level I feel it could really go either way.

Been playing Civilization since the original in 1991 on my 286. Love it, but have yet to ever play a real human. I'd like to do that some day, but its so hard to organize as games take so long. Especially now when I'm a so called "responsible adult" with a job...

I am usually good for a game of Civ on a Saturday. I have some other friends that have wanted to play as well. Would be cool to setup one day sometime to get a bunch of ppl together and play.

CIV 5 should be easy enough to get into. I would say atm, its the easiest to start with other than perhaps the original CIV.

Was hoping to see Brave New World on here too... Couple buddies and I were discussing doing a Civ 5 multiplayer sometime. Maybe we'll do it some Sunday now that the football season is over with and we'll get our Sunday's back.

I skipped Gods and Kings and picked up Brave New World during the last sale for $15. I figured that was "cheap enough".

Brave New World at the $15 mark doesn't seem like a good deal. It was on Gamefly last week for ~$5 and usually goes on sale for $8-$9.

Sounds like it could be fun. I could be down the next weekend day my girlfriend is working a double, and I'm not going to the gym.

Speaking of which, I wonder if there is a [H] group on Steam...

edit:

Turns out there is!

Brave New World isn't a very good deal on its own, but at the current bundle average, it's only an additional $9, which is about as low as it normally goes on sale for. It was on sale once at Gamefly for $5, but every other time it's been $8-9. If you are getting everything because you don't already have Civ 5, you might as well step up to BNW since this is a good price and you can give the cash to charity instead of a retailer if you prefer.

The real deal here is Civ 4 complete for $1+. Civ IV with the 2 expansions is an amazing strategy game. It's different than Civ 5 in many ways and takes longer to master. A serious no-brainer at $1+ if you don't already own it. I picked it up again just so I'd have it on Steam.

Good to know, I hadn't seen that before.

That's the way I feel too.

On its own that would be a bad deal, but $15+ gets you 8 titles, and (as I understand it, but I have never done it) you can direct all of that money to charity if you please..

Joined the group, and now I have to get posting priveleges as I wanted to say the group wasn't dead... Oh well.

Just a note: Sid Meier's Railroads! doesn't allow online multiplayer anymore. Three Civ games and some DLC for $7.62 though? That is hot. :)

Thanks OP--I'm a long-time Sid Meier fan and am looking forward to all of these.

The only thing I'm interested in is the Civ V expansion since I own the other games (and Civ 5 itself).

Is the expansion worth $7~8?

I also have been playing Civ in one form or another since the ole 286 days.

BUT when I downloaded civ revolution for my ipad I got sad. In terms of a Civ game, it looks like a repackaging of Civ3 (kool!) all the down to that weird buggy musketman. BUT the severely simplified the game. I know it if for the Ipad and they may be trying to appeal to 8 year olds, but still very disappointing.

Are these the original and unmolested versions?

G&K and BNW expansions are needed to make Civ. 5 a complete game IMO.

You can still play without them of coarse, but it's like playing a Jr. version of the game. It's no longer just a military race, which is a lot more fun.

Damn, when I first saw this bundle, the "minimum" to get the bonus stuff was like $4.20, now it's almost double that. I'm thinking they found the key is to add something of "fixed" value, so many more people pay the $15 and it jacks up the "minimum to get bonus" price.

That has always been the purpose of it. They offer a good extra item so that more people want to the bonus item and will pay more than the minimum thus raising the overall price. They are after all trying to raise money.

It's less than what you paid for lunch yesterday.

So, yes.

Who pays for lunch on a weekday? That's what employers are for. You just need to convince them it keeps you working and is to their benefit due to team building, increased productivity/communication between departments, etc.

And honestly it is in my experience. When lesser quality free lunches were provided at a place I worked people started going out and much less informal cross-team collaboration happened. Ultimately this resulted in less optimal solutions to problems or longer time to resolution of issues/longer project time lines as formal meetings, etc. had to be set up instead.

Oh yeah, the bundle is quite the deal, but the only thing I don't have is Brave New World @ $15+ I'll pass at this time.

I jumped in on this, great deal for CIV games which I don't have yet. Added bonus, supported charity too :)

Pretty crafty of them. The $15 price point for Brave New World drives up the average price significantly. The average was $5.12 when I made my earlier post.

If anyone is up for some multiplayer Civ this weekend, PM me.

I have the Civ games (although no expansion packs). I've never played these games, any thoughts on them?
Sid Meier's Ace Patrol
Sid Meier's Ace Patrol: Pacific Skies
Sid Meier's Railroads!

I know it's not much of a risk for a buck, but I'd rather not go through the process of downloading and installing them if they're not nearly as fun as the Civ games. TIA.
