Good Afternoon,

I've been placed in a fortunate predicament of having to decide on my next console purchase.
I am a proud owner of a Xbox 360. It was my first console purchase since the Sega Dreamcast. I have many fond memories with the MS exclusive franchises. That being said for next-gen, I purchased a PS4 and absolutely love the sony ecosystem. With that said this brings me to my current predicament. I have accumulated 500.00 worth of BestBuy gift cards. I am looking to purchase another console as I cannot purchase games/systems out of pocket. Gift cards support my gaming habit. Here is what im debating between. Any help is greatly appreciated based on experience, preference etc....

Xbox One - 500
- side note ::: I will not be able to pay for Xbox Live and multiplayer gaming is not important to me.

OR

PS Vita w/ Tearaway and memory card - 300
Tomb Raider PS4 - 60
Infamous PS4 - 60

I never understand threads like this.

Look at the features the games and other variables current and possible future and make a decision. Only you can make that call unless your a follower and not a free thinker.

Just choose what's best for you and enjoy it.

Don’t look at the console, look at the games. You want to see what Infamous is about or Uncharted, go PS4. If you're looking for the familiar, it appears another Gears of War is in the works as well as another Halo.

Note - both you have to pay to play online. PS4 does have the bonus of PS+ were you get free games each month. Also Apps like Netflix are still free unlike XB1.

You make a good point HisSvt76 ( I took your post a bit harsh at first, but I do realize how annoying these posts are )

Forgive my indecisiveness.... I have a unique ( for me ) opportunity to make a big purchase and I dont want to mess it up. I guess I wont know until i buy and decide for myself.

Thanks everyone.

Sorry not trying to be harsh but seriously just choose based on that stuff and you can't go wrong. Then you can only blame yourself.

I really like both machines for different games and reasons.

I own all the new systems so id be more than happy to answer any specific questions on them.

The only way to mess it up is to create a thread like this and listen to annoyed people answer your question.

Think it over and make a decision. Be happy.

If your invested in Sony's ecosystem and have PlayStation plus then the vita isn't bad as you get a lot of game though plus.

With both new systems getting plus/live is a necessary evil btw live 12 month is 39.99 right now at many places amazon/BB/target

I should have come up with specific questions instead of a generic " make up my mind for me " statement.
:)

With that said...

How limiting are the memory cards? Are you able to fit multiple games on a single card? Im looking at a 16gb card and dont want to be contantly shuffling games

How necessary is xbox live to xbox one? I had no problems on 360 and feel i wasnt missing much, It appears that xbox live is becoming more important. I fear that it may eventually hinder the single player experience if im not subscribed

Can you use the Best Buy gift cards to buy Amazon gift cards? 'Cause I would do that and then buy whatever the hell I wanted instead of stuff from Best Buy.

If you buy just the xb1, you won't have anything to play on it at it's current price point. You didn't mention the frequency of getting gift cards, so how long would it be before you got another one to buy a game at MSRP of $60? The console gives you nothing to do, especially without live. It doesn't come bundled with any games, it doesn't play your old 360 library, it would be a shiny paperweight until you bought a game for it. I have a 360 and an xb1 and once I beat AC4 on the xb1, I went back to my 360 until something else comes along that I want to play. I don't regret my purchase, but none of the other launch titles peaked my interest to buy them at full price, so it sits til at least Titanfall.

At least the other purchase option you listed gives you content to use for your purchase. Seems like the correct choice to me, given the information you provided. Whether or not it IS the correct choice is up to you, you know your situation better than we do.
