4K - 28" Dell P2815Q

30Hz is a total deal breaker for me. I'd imagine it's the same story for most enthusiasts as well.

Hopefully the IBM 28-inch 4K monitor at $800 actually supports 4K @ 60Hz.

Hmm...based on the Forbes guys track record with this piece I'm uncertain whether to actually believe the 30 Hz claim either. The Asus 28" model is confirmed 60 Hz. I don't see why this wouldn't be the same.

So Dell claims that the "screen performance" of the P2815Q is supposed to be on par with their 24 in. and 32 in. 4K models. If it has a TN panel and only runs at 30 Hz at 4K, then this would seem like contradictory information. Granted, "screen performance" can be used subjectively but if these specs are true, I don't see how Dell's statement is defensible, but I guess $699 for a 4K IPS display really seems too good to be true.

Either way I agree that this information would alienate a lot of potential buyers. If it were TN but ran at 60 Hz at 4K, then I think gamers would still be very interested. But 30 Hz on top of being TN? I can't see a big market for that.

And still no new info on that ultrawide they talked about at the beginning of December? Odd.

If its 30Hz it seems pretty pointless IMO, the new Seiki 32" 4K monitors are going to cost like $300, LOL.

Whenever companies start using vague terms like "screen performance" you know there's a critical flaw involved somewhere. If it was an IPS LED 60hz screen they would just come out and say that, because that would be good! Hiding behind nonsense phrases means Something's Wrong With It.

Nah you can bet someone in corporation is already jumping up and down as he will be able to supply his people with 4k screens for cheap price and who cares they will be 30 Hz garbage.

It will work so great together with cloud based auto-cad which takes half a minute to update schematics :D

rofl, that is disgustingly hilarious. GG dell. but but but only $699!

This is the fastest I've gone from technolust to kill it with fire in quite some time.

Clearly Dell doesn't observe what their customer base wants . I gave up on dell when the 30s first came out and I received 7 replacement panels on a course of 120 they all displayed severe banding.

I wouldn't expect dell to deliver a legit 4k monitor for under $1000.

I am not so sure about this 30Hz thing. All sources are pointing to Forbes that might as well made a mistake...

It's usually 30hz per Hdmi. 2 Hdmi split into the panel to give 60hz. It should be 60 hz via DP on one connection however.

It says:
'Optimal resolution:
3840 x 21606 at 30 Hz'
but when you click the small '6' index number, it says:

Yes, I posted that in the other thread, but that note speaks of the GPU not the monitor.
