Raise your hand if you didn't see this coming. Someone will be around shortly to smack you in the head. :D

Moore, 27, has claimed to be the operator of isanyoneup.com, a site that posted nude photos of people, many of whom say they did not consent to having their images appear on the Internet. The indictment from the United States District Court for the Central District of California charges Moore and a man named Charles “Gary” Evens, 25, with conspiracy to “access a protected computer without authorization to obtain information for private financial gain” and other counts.

At the same time as this is unexpected, and he definitely had it coming, anyone in this day and age who consents to having nude pictures taken of themselves, thinking they will never make their way onto the public internet is horribly naive...

am I the only one that is upset I am now just learning about this site? :/ lol

Remember this kids:

It's impossible for a picture that is never taken to wind up on the internet!

(This is also the ONLY way to make sure it never happens)

While true, just because you leave your front door unlocked does not make it any less illegal for someone to come in and take your stuff.

That said, I always though these "revenge porn" were just pros doing the whole "Ooooh I'm an amateur" routine like bang bus or similar stuff.

I dunno, some of the photoshoppers are getting pretty good: just because something didn't happen, doesn't mean it's not on the internet.

Some of them are straight up fake. But the actual "revenge porn" are the ones doing the illegal shit. Especially they're taking bribes to remove people's pictures off their website. "Oh you want that picture taken off? Give us $XXXX and we'll think about it."

Also I forget, they were also naming and shaming these people by linking directly to their facebooks, emails whatever and trying to get their families, friends, and relatives aware of the pictures.

Kind of makes me surprised that no one has tried to harm / kill them in revenge yet.
Not condoning violence, of course, but let's face it. There has to be pretty pissed off people out there, and we don't exactly live in a non-violent society.

Ugh. Lack of edit.

NOT unexpected. NOT.

Best part of the story, I think.....

Moore’s former attorney, Reza Sina, told TIME that he represented Moore for about a year, but Moore ceased being a client last year. “In May of 2013 I was in Washington DC and he called me and told me he was being questioned by the FBI and it’s at that time I decided to cease all communications with him,” Sina said.

Lawyer bailed on him as soon as the feds came interrogating... Good for that Lawyer for washing her/his hands of him.

Good message but since this forum is mostly midlife and up aged guys, its probably the wrong place to share that advice. Also, I think we all know that and sometimes the excitement and willingness to trust someone else gets in the way of thinking clearly. You can pretty much assume all men are awful people who will do terrible things sooner or later, but that'd be unfair to the about 60% that are above that most of the time.

Speak for yourself :p I'm only 34 (in other words, too young to be married and have kids :p )

Midlife - to me doesn't start until 40, and "up" is 50s and 60s. Is that really our demographic? :p

But yes you are right. This advice should go to kids more than adults.

Unfortunately the pre-frontal cortex of the brain (which is responsible for rational decision making) doesn't finish developing until age 25-30, so they will never listen :p

IMHO, people shouldn't be emancipated (allowed to vote, get married, join the military, smoke, drink, get tattoos, drive a car etc. etc.) until at least 25 :p

Well, 34 isn't that old. It's about halfway there though so that's the middle which is midlife right? Maybe the US is a little better about that, but like human race wide people are usually living until about 60.

I'd agree that some of the people I know who are under 25 are still not grown up mentally, but then again, I have a lot of friends in their teens still who seem more smarter..er than adults. They don't use FB, they don't do drugs or use energy drinks, and they don't buy huge homes or cars with loans they can't pay back in less than 100 years.

Also, the military needs people who are physically capable. Past 25, it's pretty much a downhill thing for a human body so if you don't take advantage of the biology of the situation and wait until 25, you'll have a lot of unfit and unhealthy people with a much higher chance of dying from diseases or even the common cold because living conditions are bad. I mean really, look at what happens during a power outage. In the summer, older people die from heat and in the winter they die from being too cold. You can't have a bunch of people in the military like that so you've gotta let them join when they're younger and they have to be legally allowed to do so which means you get to be considered an adult earlier.

You only plan on reaching your late 60s?

Sure many die younger, but as long as you have access to decent healthcare and stay reasonably fit, late 80's to 90's really shouldn't be that out there...

You let someone take pictures of or record you in a vulnerable state? Then the relationship ended and they did whatever they wanted with it?

I'm unclear as to the issue here. Are you unclear as to your responsibility?

Just to be clear, this guy and his buddy were caught Photoshopping pictures to "create" embarrassing pictures to then publish to be a dick.

So the whole "if you don't take selfies and nudies they won't end up on the internet" is unconfirmed.

Now, WHEN he does get ass raped in Prison, I sure hope someone takes videos and puts them on the internet. ...

JUSTICE!!
