Any of you fall victim to the dreaded Error CE-34878-0 message yet?

PlayStation 4 early adopters are experiencing a widespread data corruption error resulting in lost progress and unplayable games, according to frequent reports in a 34-page PlayStation Forum thread. Joystiq reader "Jim" wrote in to report the loss of 30 hours' worth of progress as a result of a glitch that the PS4 console identifies as "Error CE-34878-0."

Haven't had many issues here. Some PSN issues here and there but pretty good for the most part. Hopefully I don't experience this save corruption.
 
Had that same error pop up during BF4 many times (probably 20 to 50x).. fun stuff.

Hasn't happened recently for me, and there is a work-around to recover the corrupt game save that works (at least most of the time).

Still waiting for my special Crash CE-34878-0 trophy :D
 
I think I had the same error on BF4 as well, been spending more time on the xb1 at the moment though.
 
Don't worry guys I am sure the PS+ subscription has versioned backups you can get to.

If it successfully uploads at all. Which is a rare thing in BF4.






And I want to throw it in here not quite related to the subject, there's a small batch of PS4s that simply performs terribly in everything at all times with poor framerates, framedrops, chugging and stuttering, but not crashing and burning like they should. People who experience that should be advised to contact Sony or their store. It's got childhood diseases.
 
Oh, fantastic. Right after I made up my mind to go PS4 and have started picking up games from Ebay. No console yet though, Amazon is a PS4 black hole.
 
Didn't everyone say the PS4 was going to be significantly better then XB1?

I own neither and don't plan to, so I don't really care. Just curious.
 
I only experienced this with bf4, I just attributed it to BF4 being another pos pushed out by Dice/EA. Every other game has, and continues to play fine.
 
No issues with my PS4 yet. BF4 crashed occasionally to the start screen/desktop in single player but never lost a save file.
 
So has there been any reports of this happening on a game "Other" than bf4? So far I haven't seen any. Looks more like a bf4 issue than a ps4 issue. Could be wrong, I haven't tracked it super close. None of my games have had a problem, but I don't play bf4 here.
 
When consoles were actually different from PCs this kind of junk didn't happen. Now that they're more complex and share a lot in common with a desktop computer, they're probably going to have more PC-like problems. Also game quality will end up being pretty much as bad as the usual rushed to market junk that PC game publishers shovel out to a general public starving to taste the next steaming pile of FPS/RTS/TBS/MSNBC/CNN/C-SPAN/etc that they think will somehow be better because the graphics are hyped as being "photo-realistic" or whatever. Yaay gaming!
 
No issues here for my PS4. Plus I sold my BF4 copy so I've never even seen this error, lol.
 
That's a bummer.. I know only a few ps4 users actually have more than dial-up internet so they would really miss this corrupt data from all the singe player missions. What a shame..
