I need a recommendation for a SCSI card that runs under the latest 64-bit Windows OSs that provides connectivity via a 50-pin external (SCSI-2 female) connector.
I have a large-format scanner (Epson 836XL) that connects to an WinXP PC via an ancient Adaptec 2930CU SCSI adapter via a 50-pin external (SCSI-2 female) connector on the back of the card.
Since I'm planning to ditch this XP box and upgrade to Win7/8/8.1, I need a replacement for the 2930CU SCSI card (only has 32-bit drivers) that offers the same 50-pin (Ultra SCSI) external port to connect the scanner via SCSI cable.
While running the existing Adaptec 2930CU under Windows 7 32-bit would work, I prefer to run 64-bit Windows with supported/standard 64-bit drivers via a newer/matching SCSI card. But it seems SCSI cards with 50-pin external connectors aren't made anymore.
Can someone recommend a SCSI card with a 50-pin external (SCSI-2 female) socket with 64-bit drivers for Win7/8/8.1 (can't find one)
OR
a similar card with a converter to use an internal 50-pin SCSI port off the card (adapter?) to which I can connect my SCSI-2 male cable to the scanner (since these exist - but I don't know if you CAN convert a 50-pin internal to an external port to use with a 50-pin Ultra SCSI cable)?
