Thats pretty hot...My lightning when air cooled idles at about 36 and under a FAH load tops out at about 62
That's more than just a case fan issue. What's your ambient temp?
What else is in the case? You should be down near 35-45.
Could be an improperly mounted heatsink.
I just turned the system on with my hdd and OS. Nothing is happening except I'm running Evga precision X.Also get and run GPU-Z to check the sensors. It's also possible your gpu is under load in a botnet mining some bitcoin equivalents.
I have an EVGA GTX 780 and it idles at 26C and while playing WoW it doesn't go over 49C.. I can get it a touch over 70C with Furmark benchmark though.
Ditto for my 780 lightning, 26 at idle hooked up to 3 monitors.
I got mine hooked up to one big 48" I think but it's at 1080 HD ...l I think I messed that up on the original post. Is it the size or the quality of the monitor that effects the gpu, for reference sake.
