The crew at Overclockers Club say that the Logitech G600 MMO gaming mouse is "all that and a bag of chips." So, if you need a new mouse for your favorite MMO, I'd definitely check out this review.

You've got your standard mouse functionality followed up with an added tilt wheel and twelve buttons to do nearly anything you can come up with. You have the option to use the G-Shift button to add in a full second set of 19 buttons as well as a mode selector to add in basically two more sets of twelve to the game. You can set three saved profiles to the mouse to take with you on the go and additional to your local machine for all the games and programs you desire.

There is nothing I hate more than a huge rack of buttons for your one thumb to hit. I far prefer designs like the Genius (I know... I was as surprised as you are) Gila GX. Fairly symetrical, buttons all over, everything programmable.

I prefer using a gaming keypad (like the Razer Orbweaver) for MMOs, but I have heard pretty good things about the G600.

I have this mouse and severely under use it. For me it's almost entirely left click, right click, scroll wheel + forward / back, and G9-G14. All of the 9-20 buttons are angled to further help distinguish them by feel. Based on the way I hold the mouse, using G19 and G20 is fairly uncomfortable and accidentally clicking mode switch is a pain.

Under default mode with Num Lock on, G9-G20 become an extra number pad with 19 and 20 being the + and - keys. G-Shift + a G9-18 key skips to browser tabs while 19 and 20 are zoom. Then again, it's often easier just to move the cursor and click on the tab.

So many buttons?! I can sort of understand why MMO players would want this, but for me, its a nightmare of accidental button presses waiting to happen :)

i'd rather them place the macro buttons on TOP of the mouse

my thumb rests on the side of the mouse to GRIP the mouse... it's awkward to grip the mouse buttons for fear of accidental presses

I personally cant get much use from buttons that require you to release your grip on the mouse.

One of the few mice to get thumb buttons right for me was the Sidewinder X8. You could just roll your thumb one way or the other without releasing your grip.

I have this mouse (g600 MMO mouse) I love it.

I have both it and the Naga MMO mouse; the g600 is way better for me, the thumb buttons are angled in such a way i can feel where my thumb is without looking, and it has the right amount of tension on the thumb buttons to prevent accidental presses.

The Naga on the other hand all the buttons felt the same; and prefer to "palm grip" a mouse, and the Naga has that silly up-turn at the front of the mouse that rubbed the tip of my fingers wrong.

I rad that most who "claw grip" a mouse like the Naga MMO mouse; Me with long fingers and prefering the "Palm-Grip" the g600 was 100% better for me.

I tried this mouse for a few days, but I found it very uncomfortable. The way I grip a mouse, I use my ring and pinky fingers to do a lot of the guiding. The "shift" button on the g600 forced me to completely change my grip. I also found that I accidentally clicked the shift button a lot. I have heard of people having the same issue that end up rebinding the shift button to be RMC and using their traditional grip. If you do this though, I feel like you're wasting a pretty big feature of this mouse. If you have big hands, use a palm grip, and play MMOs a lot, or need a lot of macro functions for photo editing or whatever, this thing is probably exactly what you're looking for. Personally, I found the Naga to be more usable for my tastes, but Razer quality is terrible.

The new G602, on the other hand, I am in love with. Logitech's naming scheme is terrible because the 602 has nothing in common with the 600.
