If you are one of the diehard wrasslin’ fans that just can’t get enough of the sport, The World Wrestling Entertainment has good news for you. The WWE Network goes live on February 24th.

The WWE Network will work on PC and Mac, Android, iOS, Roku, PlayStation, Xbox and other set-tops, as well. Google Chromecast is not officially on the list just yet, but eventually will be.

When ESPN does this, TV will be changed forever.

When espn/cbs sports/pro networks/fox sports does this no one will remember what tv is except those who watch the food network pretending like they are learning how to cook like a pro.

For the three people with internet who watch WWE?

Their official Facebook page has 14,000,000 followers. They have multiple wrestlers with over a million Twitter followers.

Children still watch this fake shit?

Monday Night Raw has been consistently one of the top-rated cable TV shows for 15 years. They got 4 million viewers this week and they're actually in a slump right now.

I don't care for wrestling but I like what they're doing. TV is currently a rip-off because you're forced to buy in to a package that you may only use 10-15% of (TV channels) and prices constantly increase along with indefinite equipment rental fees. I hope that the WWE is successful and others follow suit. If the cable companies won't let us buy a la carte then maybe the content creators will beat them to it and just offer streaming options. Cable's response: 15GB monthly bandwidth caps.

I can see it now...

WWE = $9.99
ESPN = $9.99
MLB = $9.99
NBA = $9.99
NHL = $9.99
UFC = $9.99
Netflix = $9.99
Hulu = $9.99
...

Well I'm one and it's a great deal considering the PPVs are at least $50 a pop and they're included in this package for $10 a month.

with the subscription are the PPV's available only online or can you watch it on your cable provider?

Cheaper then a cable bill and you'll get far more then just a stupid channel. This is the way it will go for online paid content.

They're not just showing PPV, the entire company catolog of matches and PPV are viewable too. You could go back and watch the oldschool 'wraslin that was the best thing on Saturday in the 80's.

Not too far from the truth, really.

And I think ESPN would have to charge even more than $10/mo for it to make sense for them to switch to this. Offering a streaming service will almost assuredly get them in hot water / dropped from cable companies. That (huge) loss in revenue will now have to be made up by the group of people that subscribe, rather than ALL cable subscribers. IIRC, ESPN receives from cable companies almost $6 per subscriber for all of its channels. If you distilled that pool down to only the people who would subscribe to only ESPN, I imagine that $6 would have to triple (or more) for the numbers to make sense.

There are a lot of repressed gay dudes who love this homoerotic soap opera, so I can see it being popular.

Shall we add to the list of "reality" shit on TV people watch...............

Yes, people watch it.. as they do all the other crap like Survivor....Karadisian... and all that shit...

Sports personalities all suck nowadays. Wrestling was amusing back in the nineties, with Undertaker, Bret Hart, Undertaker, that clown dude, Yokozuna, etc. (How do I even remember this shit?)

Yeah, I think that folks will actually miss the days of cable if the idea of streaming networks actually take off ... Everyone has this illusion of individual channels going for $5/month or something and that is highly unlikely ... I would think that based on popularity or need you could see monthly prices more in line with this (although you might also get yearly or multiple year advance purchase options as well):

HBO basic $9.99
HBO full $14.99
Other movie channel groups $9.99+
ESPN basic $9.99
ESPN full $19.99
Disney $14.99
Sports league basic $9.99 (regular season games only, maybe also regional components)
Sports league enhanced $14.99 (full access and playoffs)
etc

Although an individual channel might possibly go for $4.99 or something many of the biggest and most popular channels have sister channels (discovery/history, etc) and they will want to continue to make offerings that maximize their revenue flows ;)

Only online. They pissed off DirecTV here too and DTV may stop carrying the PPVs.

would have been great if the subscription gave you the choice of either watching online or on TV...either way for wrestling fans the inclusion of 12 PPV's with your subscription is what really makes this deal good

I stopped watching after the turn of the century but I do enjoy watching the individual documentaries on the wrestlers and where they came from.

Just watched the road warriors one today on Netflix.

I couldn't tell you any story lines or who was what but I used to watch it to see stupid shit happen like getting thrown off a 20 ft cage and all that jazz.

I think the highlight was when ECW was still around and WCW had the NWO invasion before it got retarded.

A la cart has been a desire for many people. Of those, my cable bill would be $30 a month for more content than i could handle.

Think we plucked a nerve on someone who watches this fake shit.
Safe to say? :D:rolleyes:

Indeed. He probably calls it wrestling, too.

Stopped watching this shit when I hit puberty in the late 80's.

same, back when it was good, i agree, now it is all story line crap and making up mini stories, it used to just be "i want to kick X guys ass" done....i will watch a wrestlemania every couple years if it has some of the old guys in it, but how many times can you watch the undertaker almost lose, dude is a million years old now.

it is Soap Opera's for guys, been saying that for years, but i was just curious since your so judgmental at the people who watch this..as to what do you watch...
