In the ‘it’s about time’ file, the US government is finally showing the door to the contractor who created the ill-fated HealthCare.gov website, otherwise known as The Affordable Care Act or Obamacare website.

"At the end of the day, you have a company here that turned in subpar and visibly high-profile work. I think that that's a fireable offense.”

Didn't the us government know that they also screwed up the canadian medical registry a few years back, how could they hire such an incompetent company?

It's a shame we can't give the boot to Obama and his Unaffordable Care Act.

You answered your own question.

The Obama administration is the most incompetent in the History of this country.

CGI Federal released a statement stating the company received 4 more federal contracts recently. That means 4 more disasters incoming.

They need to have completion guarantees in these contracts, e.g., $1M fine per day for each day the site is late and not fully functional.

I remember reading they were Obama cronies.

We the people demand a full refund!
Sadly, we all know that'll never happen since the loot has already been divvied up among all those involved in this embezzlement scheme...and it goes all the way to the top.

I remember reading they were Obama cronies.

the "ties" were one of Michelle's Princeton classmates being a senior VP at CGI, because it's inconceivable that someone from a prestigious university could have a decent position in a $10 billion company and NOT be part of cronyism. more astounding is that a long-time federal contractor visited the white house and met with the administrations CIO before being appointed, clearly not how business should ever be conducted  ugh i hate the sensationalist media. it's not an obama conspiracy as much as it is more of the same type of politicking that is part of every presidential administration

In other news, the head of CGI Federal makes a sizable donation to Hillary Clinton's 2016 campaign fund........

Wow.... if only we could hold congress to those same standards.

Conspiracy!

It's been pointed out before why companies like CGI Federal get contracts. While they generally lead government projects into disaster after disaster, they are one of the very few companies which are capable of complying with vast amounts of regulations, not to mention know how to write proposals and otherwise navigate the bidding process.

The true shame is that we can't rid ourselves of the electorate who put his sorry ass in office.

I should apply for the contract. Who cares if I don't build a functional site, I'll still get paid.

They are likely one of a handful of companies that know how to get government bids. Bureaucracy at it's finest making it difficult just to apply to do work.

I'll remember this quote when someone you like gets voted in and does stuff I dislike. Of course I'm sure then somehow it'll still be the fault of the other, that's how black and white ideology works after all. :p :D

As for the contractors good. They did terrible work and get to suffer the consequences by being terminated. I'd say the system, however creaky, seems to be working.

lol, until the very next administration that others won't agree with also.

Seems like some people forget that little thing called the Iraq War that apparently was started over something that didn't exist and killed and maimed untold thousands of people and cost a trillion dollars.

I don't think anybody has forgotten but what do you want to do about it now? This is always a retort when anybody disagrees with the current administration... well the last administration was piss poor as well but they aren't in control anymore. Anyway this administration isn't that far removed from the last. Forward to 2016 when the intellectual voters will vote for.... more of the same. :(

Blame the news for being piss poor in actually informing an electorate. Instead they seek viewer-ship by miming likable statements over actual journalism.

People don't hire CGI for their coding abilities. They hire them because of other stupid political business decisions. Basically, CGI must give pretty awesome blow jobs, since they sure can't code their way out of a paper bag.

Considering that the actually cost of building of the website and then fixing it has climbed up to almost 1 BILLION dollars now. Somehow I don't think CGI is too upset by this decision

So in over two centuries of Presidential administrations, the current one is the most incompetent. Sure.

Obama won the popularity and welfare vote and proves once again that the majority of Americans are morons.

Let me know if your better off after Obama is done fucking things up in a couple of years.

Am I butthurt? lol, I just enjoy bitching about stupid ass Demotards.

Yeah because when Bush left office, we were living in a conservative Utopia! No national debt. No welfare state, everybody pulled his weight. And gee, you're old LaSalle ran great!

Archie Bunker lives in every conservative since Obama was elected-- they complained how he was screwing the country up before he even got to take his first dump in the White House executive shitter!

Bush wasn't anything approaching a fiscal conservative. But politics is about redefining the middle, so by the left's self-serving definition, Bush was a righ-wing conservative extremist, just as Obama is a moderate—or even right-of-center as some laughably claim.

"At the end of the day, you have a company here that turned in subpar and visibly high-profile work. I think that that's a fireable offense.”

Ironic considering how that applies to just about the entire federal government. They're the leading experts in subpar work.

The government screws up a lot of things but this particular one was a huge mistake. If the democrats were trying to show the world what a great thing they did and how it was a good idea to let the government handle health care they sure showed us lol. They showed us exactly why we should not trust the government to do things. BTW I have been trying to see what prices are offered on the exchange since about a week after it opened and back then I told everyone that there was not enough time I knew right when they when I tried to make an account and they wanted a strong user name, lol? that this was going to go all wrong. To this day I cannot see any prices, never been able to finish an application. I even called in to ask and you know what the person on the phone did? They filled out the same damn website I did, arrived at the exact same error and told me they couldn't do anything about it. WOW that is what we are paying people to do? Golf clap for the president, I guess he realized our education system is so bad that most people cannot read or write and therefore would need to be able to call someone to fill out a form for them. But at the same time was so sure the government could make a flawless website he neglected to give those lame phone support people any power to actually push through an application or do any sort of administration that was actually useful to the small part of America that can read and write.

BTW getting rid of CGI is not the problem, it is time to fire everyone in congress and the government who was suppose to be over seeing this and screwed it up. But why would we, they don't need to use the exchange cause they have that nice government insurance that is not Medicaid that actually works.

And then what, the same kind of untrustworthy people are going to get elected again. And why is that? its because government has become so big and powerful that if you are a businessman in America, it would be stupid not to lobby(bribe) the congress. The return on investment from having a congressmen in your pocket is 100 times the cost; you would be lucky to get 2 or 3 times that competing in the free market.

The only way is to make government less powerful so it no longer makes sense to spend money bribing a congressmen or bureaucrat to do something for which he does not have to power to.

Didn't the us government know that they also screwed up the canadian medical registry a few years back, how could they hire such an incompetent company?

Because the company they hired, the owner i believe went to school with Obama's wife..

"it isnt what you know... but who you know...'

But you can... you're a democratic country.. or so American's keep preaching...
Many Americans do—including many of our elected politicians—but they're wrong. We are a constitutional republic. Or was, once upon a time.

Cause this country does not have an in-house tech agency that would take on almost all tech responsibilities for the govt... we have to contract the work out to dipshits that rape the country and leave us with a pile of shit that needs to fixed instead of a fully functional back-end and front end of a government website.
