iphone4, 3 years now, home button finally wearing out. switching to android, stuck between samsung s4 and htc one.

Currently (and still) running a Samsung Galaxy S 4G with a minimal/custom Android v2.3.6 ROM.

After owning all 4 of the Nexus phones, did not get the 5, I am now on a Galaxy S4, and couldn't be happier. This S4 gets amazing battery life, 5h On Screen time no problem, sometimes 6h On Screen time. The S4 is super fast, I don't see any lag. The screen is gorgeous. And the size is just right for me, not too large, nor too small.

I'd be all over a Galaxy S5 'Google Play Edition' if Samsung releases one soon at launch this March ?

Currently using a HTC EVO from Virgin Mobile. It is okay. I simply use it for texting, listening to music... and oh yeah, making phone calls from time to time.

However, not too pleased with Android OS since it auto launches programs / apps in the background on it's own. For example I am looking at my phone right now and I see, Google Play, Calendar, Mail, Hangouts, Youtube, Pinball Arcade, Google+, Voicemail all currently running. This was after I restarted my phone about an hours and manually killed all non essential apps that were running in the background.

I will look into rooting both my phone and 2012 Nexus 7 soon. However, I am considering a Windows phone next if I am able to more control over it compared to an Android phone. Something I need to research.

With almost 100% certainty, I will drop my Nexus 7 tablet in favor of a Windows tablet after Cherry Trail / Willow Trail Atom CPUs are released...

windows phone 7.5 for me. hate it (currently for sale if you wish to take it of my hands i have a thread somewhere) going back to android. my previous android was a galaxy player 5.0 with PACman rom 22.0.0. that thing was slower than a sloth it simply could handle the OS.

Some big things that push me off from getting a Z1 is....
1. C6906 is really hard to find, and overprice all over the place. It's the only one support 700MHZ LTE band
2. Camera is still crap after software, and I can take better picture with Xperia Z
3. Battery Life is also crap, doesn't matter the size.
4. That bezel...... WTF? With Screen softkey!?
5. A lot of people reporting Xperia Z that it's not really waterproof, and the back-plate comes off easily over time. This puts me in doubt for Z1.

I am looking into Z1s, see if they manage to fix all those thing, which I highly doubt it.

Loving my Z1. Best Android phone I've owned to date (bought it at release). Also, C6906 were readily available in Canada since its release, with LTE support. Not sure about the states though.

I love the way Z1 looks, but it just that Massive bezel and horrible battery drain push me away. (The Z1's camera still has a horrible software... Hope they can pull another Xperia Z's fix into it)

C6906 model is not available since launch in Canada, it took them 2 months after release. Though it's still not in the state yet for some reason... :(

I am looking into the Z1 compact now, its a perfect size for me I guess. Just that bezel again....

Android is for people who want to do something to their phones.

iPhone is for people who want to do something with their phones.

Windows Phone blows chow.

Agree except for the last one. Windows Phone is a great phone. But, it's like iPhone - you use it. You don't do things to it. I love Android because it's so open (was). Windows Phone is simple and fast and stable. iPhone is great with it's huge app store.

Windows Phone is awesome, though.

On an S3 at the moment. Considering making a switch come my next upgrade. I will get an iPhone is the screen gets bigger, otherwise there is a good chance I'll check out Windows Mobile.

On a Lumia 1020.

Good phone, love the camera, love the camera attachment with tripod and extra battery.

As a smartphone, I hate it, but only because I like to play with my hardware, not just use it.

I really don't mind the bezel.. and the new Z1 compact is a sweet phone IMO. Plus it actually has a proper IPS panel AFAIK so at that size and at 720p it is still a very compelling device.. considering the powerhouse specs that drives a smaller phone like that.

I don't think there is anything out like it at that size and processing power. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Still using a Nokia Lumia 521. I didn't think I'd be using it for this long, but so far it does everything I want and it doesn't feel slow at all. That and I'm kind of hooked on the Nokia Lumia exclusive apps now (MixRadio and the HERE apps in particular), so I'm a little apprehensive going back to Android.

When I purchased my first smartphone about 3 years ago(Samsung galaxy s2) most people I knew had an iPhone. Today its the other way around. Of all the 20 people in my department only 2 still use an iPhone and most use a product from Samsung. Most popular phones at my work place are the s4, s3 , Note 2 and now the Note3.

Why haven't you updated your handset to 7.8?

If your carrier is being a jerk about it and not sanctioning the update for your phone, you can force any WP 7 handset to update to WP 7.8 using this utility: http://windowsphonehacker.com/articles/want_windows_phone_7.8_now_try_this_easy_tool-01-31-13

i accually did that using heathcliff's seveneighter so now its on 7.8 but the app store still sucks and its not open sourced like android. also a big thing for me is i want to plug into my pc and use copy paste without having to use heathcliff's interim unlock which is basically jailbreaking but on windows phone. also get any app for free is WAY simpler on android that on windows phone.

this poll just confirm what i suspected about the people no this form. were basically all techie's (or whatever is politically correct these days) so android will rule.

Aren't you concerned about googles non-privacy phones?

I'm using an iPhone 5s. It's a power house for gaming on mobile. And yes yes, it's not an android, it doesn't have a huge screen, etc etc. As for me, I really like Apples mobile products.
