Microsoft has announced that it has sold over 3 million units worldwide in 2013. Tune in later this week for Sony's "me too" announcement. ;)

Over 3 million Xbox One consoles were sold to consumers in 13 countries before the end of 2013. It’s been incredible to see Xbox One selling at a record-setting pace for Xbox, and we were honored to see Xbox One become the fastest-selling console in the U.S. during our launch month in November. Since our launch, demand for Xbox One has been strong, selling out throughout the holidays at most retailers worldwide. We are continuing to work hard to deliver additional consoles to retailers as fast as possible.

Great! An I hope the PS4 and other consoles also sells well. The more the better, diversity is good. I only wish that Sega could make a comeback in the console market...

You sir are far to unbiased for this forum. The trolls will have their way with you shortly.

Great. Now, how about some frickin' titles ?

Sounds like alternative theory of capitalism to me.

If one company makes better product than others than it deserves to sell more.

Dreamcast 2.

Oh I can dream.

Think how many more they would have sold if they dropped the useless Kinect and put the money toward beefing up the system specs.

Cool...this looks to be a great year for Sony and Microsoft as far as nextgen console sales goes.

Kinect might be useless to you now, but that could be because not a lot of games take advantage of it. Now that EVERY XBO will have Kinect since launch software developers might actually start taking more advantage of it. ;)

While it boosted the price of the Xbox One, including the Kinect is important for the future. When you don't include a major accessory with a system, you split your userbase into haves and have nots. Have-nots will always be the majority, so it becomes really, really tough to ever push anything forward with devs to support it.
The Kinect is capable of a lot, so we'll have to see what they end up doing with it.

This.

quit bragging microsoft.. I can't even play battlefield 4 online. every server extremely full with 50+ in line... $60 game, $60 premium, $500.00 console... time in server over the past 7 days... 0 minutes. If there are 3 million like me they did a good job ripping us off.

Thats dice problems. THey have botched the entire BF 4 launch for xbox one.

I am happy with my purchase and cant wait to purchase a ps4. Only reason i have not is because the games are almost the same on both consoles and there is nothing on ps4 that i want at this time.

That's DICE/EA's problem, not Microsoft.

I won't be surprised if Sony reports 4 or 5 million sold in the coming days or weeks.

One thing we know for sure, Xbox 720p will have zero demand in Japan

They probably will sell even more once they implement the Friends and Family plan. I'm OK with DRM if I can split the cost of a game and pay only $6-7. It's still cheaper than buying $60 new and selling used at $15-$30.

Actually, i'm OK with DRM as long as it has nothing to do with EA/Origin.

Well, Sony's CES presentation came and went with no PS4 sales announcement.

Hopefully this isn't like all your other Xbox One predictions....like no one buying the Xbox One because it was for soccer moms, losers and fanboys. ;)

Since it seems to be selling well enough, I don't think they could do much better.

Most likely around 6M for the PS4... They are still sold out here where I live and when they get them in there gone before 7am.. Stock comes in at like 6:25AM and the store doesn't offically open open till 10am.

Ya then their product would be the same price as the PS4 and the same power and ummm ya so it would just be like the same as the PS4..... And I am sure that being the same as the PS4 would have just been the whole key to out selling the PS4....

This IS MS they allways say that 3 million ya like windows 8 and everything they sell. I went to best buy the other day 41 Xbox ones in stock not a soul buying them. The ETA for a PS4 is weeks and when they come in there sold out in minutes.

That is the most uninformed comment i've seen in awhile they haven't even made 6m ps4. they likely only made about 4m each sony and microsoft.

No you're dumb
No you suck
No you're a loser
No you're THE loser

Just thought I'd get that out of the way in the hopes the rest of this thread can be civil. Now back to Need for Speed Rivals on...I'm not telling :p

If playstation is so amazing how was microsoft able to enter the market in the first place? Sony being Sony.. for that reason alone Xbox will always prevail.

Ummm, maybe your area?

Fact is, both consoles sold 1m on day one. Both consoles sold 2m within 18 days. Microsoft announced over 3M sold in 2013 and Sony will do the same here soon (an announcement how many consoles they sold in 2013).

And the stores in my area (Las Vegas) have stock on both consoles...not sure what the hell that proves. BOTH consoles are selling very well.

lmao really? Sony says they want to ship 5 mil by the end of march, wow

Wouldn't that make it a PS4? If so, it would probably sell as well as the PS4 is, which apparently is less.

Somebody over at Rage posted that Sony has sold over 4.2m consoles as of December 28th. Not sure how true it is but that is great news for both consoles to sell that many in such a short period.

Don't forget about Ubisoft who made always on DRM the norm.

I have absolutely no problem with DRM so long as it does not interfere in an annoying way. Always on types do not work for me because my internet is not always stable. I had no issues with the initially planned once in every 24 hours DRM for the XB1.

You are correct. 4.2 million. That was part of the Sony CES keynote this morning.

Both consoles are doing well. Good for them and our economy. Fanboy arguments over both these systems are beyond logical at this point. Pick your poison and enjoy .. or enjoy both.

Moving on with life.

Intellivision trumps your new fangled dickbutt consoles. I'll buy you plane tickets if you want to engage in fisticuffs about my preference.
