I'm looking for a portable monitor solution that I can carry around with me in the datacenter. Does such a thing exist? I'm thinking maybe 7-10", VGA (DVI would be nice as well/HDMI). I hate having to deal with KVM's, particularly in larger environments. I need something cheap now, not a super-expensive IP KVM solution.

I've seen a few 14", but it's just too large. I'm imagining something about the size of an iPad/Nexus 7, with video inputs. Any ideas?

There is a company that makes an adapter that can be used with an ipad display. It is displayport only.

I am working on a complete product that uses a 13 inch screen.

Abusemark also has a retina display DP adapter, for 3500 yen (about $35).
Currently sold out but they will have a new batch in soon.

I've tried the rozsnyo version but I had problems getting the flex cable to hold in securely,
so I ended up returning it. I'll be trying the abusemark version soon.

Edit: By the way, if you want something that's easier to interface,
you can use a regular iPad screen (1024x768) with a LVDS interface,
there's a ton of them on ebay. The one I bought has composite, VGA and HDMI/DVI.
The problem is that the realtek chip on the board gets really damn hot, so I ended
up sticking some copper heatsinks and a 30mm fan to it, and now it is stable.
It's kind of unwieldy since it's 3 PCBs, the main one, the inverter board, and
the control board, but I imagine if you mounted it to a piece of wood or something
it would be more manageable.
