MSI 7970 Lightning Need Advice - Problem
Hope someone can help me:

msi 7970 lightning default with oc enabled only.
once in a while when I click on my desktop of a picture it will open, but it seems it to be JERKY some what as it's opening, (im clicking on a small pix that will open bigger, normally it opens from small to big smooth) if I re-boot it starts up and it's ok again.

I found if I goto and click on my amd ccc and click default and then set back to enable oc, it goes back to normal no Jerky'ness.
do I need more Gpu voltage.....
my system is running at 5450mhz, im not playing games.
at less speeds it does same thing also.

Thank You HF Personal

looks good Robin, im calling MSI see if I can flash the bios maybe this will help me 1st, before editing registry.....very nice find
thanks

might this be a similar problem to that reported by some bonaire users where the screen will flicker black for a second when in the desktop?

it's not a flicker or black at all, its more of a Hesitation as it's opening, jerkyness as it's opening a picture
do you thing it could be the card Bios possible?

It would likely be something in the software - bios issue is by far at the bottom of my list for possible issue. I have a similar issue on a PowerColor 7970 so I would try that fix they posted above, If you are worried about changes made - make a backup first ;)

problem solved used driver fusion took out newest driver out I was using, installed 13.9 catalyst driver I had in my downloads.....perfect now so far ran 3d mark, 3 times perfectly.
msi tesch support said try a few things if doesn't work will send you another card, there right down the street from me...
thanks for the help HF Friends

That thread was/is a godsend. Fixed my the flicker problem my friend from work was having on his reference 7970.

Eagleone- Glad you fixed your problem, was curious about your drivers.

"ITSTHINKING"yes thanks I was worried too and didn't give any thought to the sometimes most obvious "the driver"
that "driver fusion cleaner" works very well I clean it 2 times each time reboot...
so far so good I have duplicated pix from desktop, stupid little things it would be a problem....my fingers are still crossed....msi said send it back if it acts up .......
:)
