The [H]ardForum Perpetual Freebies Thread

Looking for an official wired Xbox 360 controller with USB breakaway end. Has to be Microsoft official, not third party and not a wireless controller with a USB power charger.

For grabs: Two wireless 360 controllers. One black, one white, both may have a sticky button or two. I have no way of testing exactly.

I have a third-party with the breakaway end so let me know if you change your mind on it being first-party Microsoft.

Let me check my parts drawers. I just might have one.

I have an Epson PictureMate PM260 photo printer. It has been used twice ever. It needs a new ink cartridge; I'll include the old one so you know what to get (generic/non-Epson but compatible cartridges are just under $10 on fleaBay). Worth noting, the Epson cartridges I have bought last for ~50 prints (and come with 100 sheets of photo paper! Guess it keeps you buying cartridges to use that shit up...). I don't know if it has any other problems; the last time I used it, though, it worked just fine (that was at least two years ago!). I have a quick start guide, a user's manual, and the power brick for the printer as well -- those are included. I can't find the driver CD tho :(

I do have the original packaging for the printer if you optionally want it, although this will increase the shipping cost considerably -- the box is at least four times the size of the printer!

I also have a NIB copy of "Photo Explosion Plus" version 3 (it's marked "NEW! Version 3", so it must've just came out), presumably purchased to use with the printer. It's virtually guaranteed to be nothing more than photo gallery software with minimal edit capability (and a whole galaxy away from Photoshop!) and I hate those things with a vengeance.

Both printer and software are available for cost of shipping. (If you want the retail box for the printer, let me know -- if I don't hear that you want it, I'll assume you don't.)

EDIT: PRINTER PENDING

jojo69, can you post a picture or something of what you're talking about? PC fans last time I checked used aluminum or steel fan screws made to bite into the plastic... ;)

LOL, yea your right. Unless he is trying to mount fans to a radiator. :p

no I have a piece of hardware with loud 120mm fans, the way it is assembled the end plates hold the whole thing together and they mount to the fans, which are in turn connected by 4 8" standoffs. I want to fit better fans, but these have metal inserts with 3mm threads pressed into the mounting holes.

So I need either press in inserts, or something like the normal mounting screws but with a 3mm tapped hole in the middle.

Dumb question: you've got a machine shop in your basement/garage/whatever that would make most handymen (and many hobbyists) piss their pants with envy. Can't you just redrill the damn thing for standard fan screws? Hell, I could do that and the only power tools I have and trust are a pair of drills...

nuts and bolts. use your 3 mm bolts, but buy some 3 mm nuts, should be dirt cheap at lowes or HD. Just a thought.

I guess I could epoxy the nuts on the inside of the fan flanges and use longer male threads...thanks for the idea, was really hoping there was a product specifically made for standard fan holes

Anyone got any 512mb sticks or bigger DDR2 ECC Unbuffered that is working? I want to revive an old file server with a consumer AMD motherboard (AM2+) that can supposedly use ECC.

I have a copy of Company of Heroes, CoH Tales of Valor, and CoH Opposing Fronts sitting in my Steam inventory.

These are my fourth copies of the game, and I really don't want to hold a fourth copy to a game I already own. They came with Company of Heroes 2 Digital Collector's Edition that I purchased not too long ago since it was on sale for $40 off.

(Note: First copy were physical discs, second copy was a now-defunct Direct2Drive version, and third copy is my currently installed Steam version.)

I'll give away all 3 as a gift or individually to the first person (or persons) that want them.

Still available: (as of 12/23/2013)

I also have Command & Conquer Red Alert 3 Uprising [Steam Key].

Tell me in PM which version of CoH you want or if you want all three together.

Remember: First come, first serve. ;)

Also, Happy Holidays! :)

I'm interested in one of the dual molex to PCIe Y cables. Tell ya what...drop one of those in a padded envelop (if you have it), and if you need to fill it, you can drop one of the male>female Y adapters and the molex > SATA adapters if they fit.

Longshot -- anyone have some 5-1/4" floppies that work? Would prefer blanks but I'll take what I can get as long as it's serviceable... a local friend just gave me a pair of IBM 5150 clones... one is an original-model Compaq Deskpro (whee!).

Actually -- if anyone has had that Deskpro (the 1984 model) and remembers it really well, PM me, I have a couple questions for you regarding the display setup it had.

Anyone want an Original Xbox with wireless controller and a I think about 4 games? Also, how about a one year old Sony Blue ray player? Just pay for shipping and insurance and they are yours to who ever wants them. :D They both work great, I just do not use them and they will deserve a good home.

Pink Verbatim 8GB USB Thumbdrive without Slider Mechanism.
4GB PNY USB Thumbdrive without shell.
Nice blue flat ribbed lanyard with hook.
Green Google Soft Flat Lanyard with Loop. (Ring needs to be added)
Red Google Soft Flat Lanyard with Loop and Ring.
2x Black Nylon Lanyard with Hook
inland Mini USB Keyboard, Model #810739

These items still available? I'm interested in as many of the lanyards as you will give me, the USB drives, and the Mini-Keyboard (hoping it wil work well with my USB OTG for car use)

Location is 30528

Also @ Starhawk: Didnt have the deskpro, but I had a PC from that Era (Commadore) it makes me smile to see people still giving those early PCs some love.

@Ashton -- Commodores are true classics. IIRC the Commo 64 sold more units than any other single computer model in history. BTW, I actually have another Deskpro-like system -- a generic 5150 clone with an NEC V70 CPU... it's nifty but the floppy drive has issues.
