ALMOST hot- Steelseries Sensei RAW edition is 40!

I used to game with Steel Series mice till I got a logitech G300 for $10. G300 seems just as good as any SteelSeries mouse I have tried.

I have a SS Sensei brand new in a box (Non Raw Edition) and I am not sure if I should open up the box or sell it as new.

I really like the G300.

Is the RAW good?

In for one, my original Sensei is still strong after over a year of abuse. I just love the shape and build quality is top notch. Time to retire it for use as a backup, the price is right on the RAW and I don't need the onboard profile capability of the original Sensei anyways.

edit: It seems only the rubberized black version is at 39.99 thru Amazon. I just checked the SS website and they have all the RAW versions available at 41.99 Just in case anyone is set on the glossy, orange, or white versions.

Thanks. In for one. Been using MX518's and G400's for too long. Time to try something new.

Does the middle wheel index well when scrolling and does it make a definitive click? Don't like mushy wheel.

Just a quick note, the Sensei MLG uses the A9800 sensor and all other Sensei models (including the RAW) use the A9500.

I have a Kinzu right now, so I can't vouch for the middle click. Ergonomics is the most important to me ;)

I have a Sensei and a Sensei RAW still BNIB that I bought around this time last year, but I'm still using my Xai because the damn thing works great and just won't break!

I'm really liking the looks of the Rival but would like to wait for it to be around $40 before I bite. I also need to get my hands on a Zowie mouse; I hear they're pretty great too.

how in the hell do people use this? my pinky was constantly hitting one of the side buttons.

I had one of the first Sensei mice released it barely lasted me 2 months. Never again.

Anything can break...my girlfriend's Honda Accord needed a new transmission at 4,000 miles but that doesn't mean I'd swear off Hondas.

It's all good, though. Plenty of great mice to choose from these days. :)

Care to explain the differences?

Both are laser sensors so you will have mouse acceleration with these mice. If you aren't a competitive FPS / RTS player or you don't notice it then there really isn't much of a difference other than DPI and malfunction speed.

Again most of this is trivial unless you are a highly competitive player and a lot comes down to your preferences.

Care to explain the differences?

The avago 9800 supposedly improved in tracking over the 9500 and increased dpi. On the MLG, steelseries lets you take the dpi to something like 11,000 or so (it is interpolated).
