I just had a 2TB WD black go tits up on me in a RAID1 array I was using for storage. So I yanked it and it is going back on RMA.
As an afterthought, i decided to run the singular drive through HD Tune against my RAID0 arrays of 1TB WD Blacks - just to see if it was time to retire the arrays. The result was: Probably.
The 2TB single drive is *almost* as fast as the RAID0 1TB disks array.
Two WD Black 1TB drives in RAID0
Single WD Black 2TB
Am I crazy, or is there just no point to having RAID0 on older disks anymore, and am better off going with a RAID 10 or 0+1 setup with my 4 1TB drives for redundancy/safety sake?
