The SilverStone ML05 mini-ITX HTPC case is on the review bench over at ocaholic today. If you have plans to build a HTPC, this case could be just what you are looking for.

Despite the small form factor, the case can still house up to three fans, up to six 2.5" drives and is very affordable. HTPC cases have been quite expensive traditionally but SilverStone's ML05 is wide available at a price as low as 37 Euros. Therefore we are curious to see if the quality is still au rendez-vous and what can be done with such a case.

Not the biggest fan of the front cover, but love the size (especially depth-wise). Now... if they can make something that size, but with dual slot graphics support....

There was a prototype ML06 that suppose to have a aluminium front. Hopefully Tony can confirm if they are going to have that soon.

I have this, the only down-side is the top fan / disk mount is completely useless with quite a few mITX boards due to the USB header location.

I think you have to see the front in person. Photos don't capture the effect of the acrylic.

From what I can see, the ML06 should be available sometimes in mid December.

Also interested in the ML06. Nice looking little HTPC case. But like the ML05, I wish you didn't have to decide between the top mounted fan or an optical.

I'd transfer my ML03 setup into an ML06, but my prerequisites for an HTPC: ODD, 1x3.5" drive (2-4TB), quiet operation (120mm fan). Too bad the ML06 makes you choose only one of those.

From what I can see, our US office should have already received their first shipment of ML06, so hopefully you should be seeing stores listing ML06 by the end of this week or next (not sure how the holiday break will affect this though).

Not sure why people still insist on Optical drives. Surely this technology is about to die very very soon.
I'm willing to sacrifice a bit of quality and rip everything to the hard drive.

Because 1080p on Netflix / Amazon / Itunes is not the same quality as 1080p on Blu-ray? Plus potential ISP throttling?

You might be able to fit a 3.5 drive if you used a PicoPSU instead of the SFX unit.
