As the title says. I want to play starbound and I wanted to gift one for someone for Christmas and in order to save a few $$$ I figured I could pool together a 4-pack with 1-2 other people. PM me if you want to do this. Looking to do it in the next hour or so.

Edit: Just bought with another guy who bought two.

Maybe if multiple ppl are interested you guys can use this thread to pool together like me and someone else did.

It's like Terraria but with multiple worlds. Big thread on it here just a few threads down from this one currently.

The majority state its better than Terraria and much more massive. It is also the second most played game on steam now with 70k+ concurrent players. I wanna play tonight and check it out.

44.99 for the four pack makes it 11.25 per game copy. I would buy two which means I need two more people who are in.

Gonna wait for the winter sale to see if it drops any. Otherwise, I'd be in.

So far this game has been the biggest time waster of my life, and I'm fine with it lol. Will be between BF4 and this when rage quit kicks in.

I'll bite if someone is hosting a group buy or has extra copies.

Not trying to sound like a dick, but can someone explain to me why you would like a game like this? I just googled it and it looks very unpleasing to me.

Not everyone will like it. Its surely not meant for everyone.

Its like terraria but more fun because you can travel to multiple planets, all of which are completely random.

What exactly looks unpleasant? Do you cringe every time you see retro graphics or gameplay?

Why do people like Barney? I demand an explanation!

Anyways, I think people find minecraft/terraria/starbound fun because it encourages creativity and exploration. There tends to be a strong community aspect to it as well, bringing other gamers together in collaborations.

Minecraft always looked stupid to me until I tried it. I'm not in love with it now or anything, but it's an experience you may need to try for a while before understanding or appreciating. Bring a friend along for a much better chance at fun.

"Don't know why people like x game" is pretty much trolling in and of itself.

I'm not trolling at all. I simply asked why people like the game. I was hoping to maybe here something interesting that would spark my interest.

I wasn't even that sure myself, having played Terraria this first seemed like a clone of that, just with space & sci-fi stuff instead of magic. Watched a couple videos of people playing and was instantly sold.

It's the whole gameplay > graphics thing. Time goes in, fun comes out. Can't explain that!

OK, I bought a 4-pack. PM me for details; 3 copies to sell.

$11.25 each, PayPal please.

Probably the worst trolling I have ever seen.

lol, just teasing you. maybe if you take gaming so seriously it's not for you.

I'll add to my previous explanation:

this is more akin to being free with some friends at a playground, as opposed to being in a sports team with more rigid goals and rules. you are simply more responsible for the fun you have with the environment provided to you, but the most important thing is your imagination. this is a not the type of game that will hold your hand through a nicely scripted series of events. it's among some of the most purely sand-box style of games.

Sometimes I wish I took gaming seriously. I like pretty graphics. That pretty much sells me on any game. Then I end up getting it and only playing for a few weeks until I get bored.

And I have a shitty imagination, so this game will probably not work out for me.

Eh, it depends. If you can give yourself a goal and feel like you want to explore the game and the game mechanics, then the game might be for you, imagination or not. I suck at imagining things, but I still built a castle in Minecraft that was pretty functional. I even had buckets of lava stored on top of the battlements, and arrow launchers. At that point, I built a town inside the walls, got bored and quit.

HI All. I still have 1 key left...if interested PM me. $10 via PayPal.
