Titanfall Stryder Reveal

I really wish this wasn't going to require origin on pc. I think that's a deal breaker for me.

That will seriously prevent you from playing a game you want to play? Give me a break man... This forum is nothing but whiners now...

Yea, Origin is not that bad. Sure, it's EA and we all hate EA, but Origin is actually pretty decent at what it does. No worse than Steam

I used to hate on it until I had to install UPlay for Spliter Cell. Uplay is total shit with updates. I will definitely be avoiding it.

I am just baffled that none of these game managers have implemented per-application install locations.

I don't want to put every title I install on my SSD. Sure I want BF4 on there but not Crysis 3. Same goes for Steam. I'm aware of using MKLink but I shouldn't have to go out of my way to split my library between multiple drives.

I've seen UPlay fuck up system files. (Somehow.) Origin isn't really all that bad.

Titanfall is my 3rd most anticipated game of 2014 behind Dark Souls 2 and Witcher 3

I own bf3 with all the dlc on origin. After my last format I cannot be bothered to reinstall origin. I've tried it and it's just clunky and annoying. I have plenty of other games to play that don't require origin.

Doesn't auto-detect previous installs of games after format by default
Does not share friends between origin and the game you are running
Doesn't download games as fast as other services (My experience, others say it's faster)
Does not have nearly as many titles as steam.
I don't need multiple DRM game clients.

So yes. Origin is a deal breaker for me. No game from EA is worth the headache.

I also distinctly remember people saying that we should vote with our wallet. That's what I'm doing.

I really enjoyed playing BF3 but after I reformatted my computer it wasn't worth installing Origin for me either.

Reformat, then go to Settings and set your Games folder.... Origin will auto-detect just fine, it will say it is "downloading" the game, but if you look you will see it speeding by at 500MB/s+ checking the files.

Origin is just another steam... except I think think it works as well...

One of the benefits of Steam/Origin... they supposedly auto-download updates. Steam does this like a champ, once I install a game I really am never bothered by updates, they just happen.

Origin for some reason refuses to even download updates let alone install them... Yes I have double and triple checked I have it set to auto-update.

Just this past week I was gone (Only power saving I use is monitor off), and 2 BF4 updates come out. When I got home... what do you know first launch... gotta download update... Then crap didn't work right, reboot and relaunch... uh ANOTHER update download.

Its not that big of a deal but imo we should be able to use what ever game store/app we want. That goes for Valve titles as well..

Yup I can confirm, I have done this with BF4... it says downloading but takes seconds.

Yup. While I haven't had an Origin games I wanted to play so haven't had to install it. Diablo 3, Simcity, both two games that I was eagerly waiting for. Always online requirement. Sorry not going to buy them, doesn't matter how good they are (or aren't in the case of Simcity)

Damn, that looks fun. That's why I'm grabbing an Xbox One (PC may be better, but this would be a great Xbox Live game for me). I think this is one game that had me for the XBone over the PS4.

Sure, it's just like Hawken, but if we had the same attitude with FPS's, we'd still be playing the original Wolfenstein. After all, Doom was just Wolfenstein but a bit improved. Doom 2 was just Doom... Quake 2 was just Quake..... When it's released and you play it, then tell me how much 'the same' it is.

That wasn't the case for me... it happened to me twice. I did that and it basically deleted my game (BF4) instead of verifying my currently/up-to-date files. I even tried the download a few % and swap in files trick and it still wouldn't do it. I ended up just having to let it download the whole god damn thing again.

I still use Origin and it's not the worst thing in the world but it's still pretty terrible. Every person's experience is different; just like I can't say Steam is the best thing since sliced bread. I'm sure there are people out there who have issues with it.

When Steam came out, the amount of people talking about how crap it is, etc. etc. was ridiculous, and now look at where it is today. While I'm not saying Origin will be like Steam, it has potential, we will just have to see how it lasts.

I sure hope they swing away from that art style. I don't care for the made from bits of junk aesthetic. I'm talking about you Hawken trash can mechs.

Game looks cool but will be avoiding due to being muliplayer only.

I was pretty meh about this game until these latest two Mech videos were released. Add on that BF4 is absolute shite due to its bugs and multiplayer community (massive buyers remorse on that title for me, thankfully I didn't buy premium) and Titanfall looks even better.

I'll be waiting until the after-release chatter reveals what's actually there for the consumer, but so far I think it looks as if it will replace my other games as my shooter of choice.
