I really wish this wasn't going to require origin on pc. I think that's a deal breaker for me.

That will seriously prevent you from playing a game you want to play? Give me a break man... This forum is nothing but whiners now...
Yea, Origin is not that bad. Sure, it's EA and we all hate EA, but Origin is actually pretty decent at what it does. No worse than Steam
I used to hate on it until I had to install UPlay for Spliter Cell. Uplay is total shit with updates. I will definitely be avoiding it.
I am just baffled that none of these game managers have implemented per-application install locations.
I don't want to put every title I install on my SSD. Sure I want BF4 on there but not Crysis 3. Same goes for Steam. I'm aware of using MKLink but I shouldn't have to go out of my way to split my library between multiple drives.

I own bf3 with all the dlc on origin. After my last format I cannot be bothered to reinstall origin. I've tried it and it's just clunky and annoying. I have plenty of other games to play that don't require origin.
Doesn't auto-detect previous installs of games after format by default
Does not share friends between origin and the game you are running
Doesn't download games as fast as other services (My experience, others say it's faster)
Does not have nearly as many titles as steam.
I don't need multiple DRM game clients.
So yes. Origin is a deal breaker for me. No game from EA is worth the headache.

Reformat, then go to Settings and set your Games folder.... Origin will auto-detect just fine, it will say it is "downloading" the game, but if you look you will see it speeding by at 500MB/s+ checking the files.
I also distinctly remember people saying that we should vote with our wallet. That's what I'm doing.
Yup I can confirm, I have done this with BF4... it says downloading but takes seconds.
