Looking for iSCSI switch to handle high amount of traffic. I was thinking 3500yl Procure but any other switches available? 24 ports is enough.

Billion options. Not sure I understand the any other options question.

powerconnect 5524 /6224
Cisco catalyst 2960
Force 10 s25

1gb /10gb?

I would not recommend going with the Cisco 2960, buffer isn't big enough. Same with the 3750x

If you want Cisco you need to jump to the 49xx

For iScsi you need larger buffers on switch and also larger MTU size. Be aware of this.

Larger MTUs are not necessary with iSCSI. In the past with slower CPUs and without NIC offloading it was, but it doesn't give you THAT much of a boost.

Definitely want larger buffers though.

What's the budget? If you need high amount of buffers, I'd look Nexus 3k lines.

Budget is around 1k -1.5k (Fleebay)

I will be running VDI 10-20 in a lab setting plus about 20 other VMS.

I was looking at the HP 3500yl or the Ciscso 4900X be nice to have uplinks for 10G.
