Can you use TrueCrypt on a MBPr laptop system partition?

So I used Windows 7 64 for a long time and you could encrypt the entire system partition with TrueCrypt however moving to a MBPr with OS X it appears I can no longer encrypt my entire system partition with it. Am I missing something here? Is it possible and I'm just not seeing it?

I've looked at the TrueCrypt options a few times and just don't see how it can be done on OS X. Is creating an encrypted non-operating system disk my only choice on OS X? I just want this laptop totally secured if it were to get stolen.

Thanks

I don't know but you can turn on full disk encryption in settings under Security & Privacy

Thanks for the info guys. I went this route for the time being.

XTS-AES 128 encryption should do it, I think...lol.

Yup.. It should be good enough...

You gotta keep those top secret JFK Assassination files secure somehow.... :p

Presumably the best option is not to upload your encryption keys to iCloud for restoration unless you like the idea of another backup with the NSA. ;)

I didn't upload it to iCloud when prompted. If I forget the password it's all a loss. Safer this way and if I cant remember the password I guess it wasn't that important anyway and I'll just reformat the system and start over...lol. My password is only 15 characters anyway.
