I have a question pertaining to Nas4Free -

I have some various sata drives on the box using a dell h200 and an LSI branded 9211-8i - I did not have to flash the h200, it just worked with the firmware on there after some boot config tweaking.

The devices are showing up as da0-9 instead of expected at0-9 - will this be an issue? Does anyone know how to fix this? I have seen a similar post before but I did not see a real resolution.

You mean 'ad0-9' or 'ada0-9' I presume?

I do recommend to flash your LSI controller in IT-mode firmware. IR will work, but may have side effects the IT doesn't have. The IR-mode firmware uses a different driver for the LSI2008 SAS controller chip. Whether you flash it or not, any disks attached will use 'da' device name.

da = SCSI
ad = legacy ATA (aka 'IDE emulation')
ada = AHCI (modern SATA)

You are right, ada0 not AT.

I have LSI in IT mode already... I think the H200 is in "IR"

Will I have any down side to them displaying as SAS drives in FreeBSD or will it give me some unwanted side effects?
