My boss has a laptop which is not on the company's domain.

He needs access to the printer which is on the domain. So I connect it, no prob. Except when he returns the next day he can't print anymore. I have to manually reconnect it. Is there a way to "auto-reconnect" to the printer?

any ideas?

just add it via tcp/ip

it should always be in his printers and devices unless your printers are connected differently...

it appears in printers and devices but can no longer print in it unless I remove and reconnect it

Forgot to mention that printer is shared from a domain controller.

If it's physically connected via Ethernet you can add it via TCP IP without needing to connect to the DC.

This is the best option.

Otherwise you are going to need to create a batch file that runs at logon so that he has permission to print to the shared printer.
