I got the HX850W (80 Silver) the version from 2-3 years ago. Hopefuly there is a Corsair guy around :) or maybe someone else already has an answer to the same inquiry :)

1. If I remove the sleeves from the cables (24P board, 8P CPU, and 2x 8P PCIEx), will this void the warranty ? I won't be cutting any cables, or anything else, just removing the sleeve.

2. If I redo sleeves by per individual wire (or re-sleeving) the cables, will this void the warranty ? No cutting, no re-pinning, just re-sleeving.

Having the cables a bit flat (or individual wires) makes it more easier to arrange a clean build. The big bulkyness of a 24P power is just too thick to get around with.

Good question since you're not opening the unit or cutting the wires... I would say it wouldn't void your warranty. That said, by pulling the pins out of the connectors to sleeve them, you run the risk of putting the wires back together in the wrong order and cause a short.... so then I would say no.

:( Sorry. I'm useless.

If you want a definitive answer from a Corsair rep, I'd post in the Corsair forums.

Yeah, more weirdly is that I have re-sleeved so many for many builds I've made for friends and never thought of it. None of their PSUs died out yet afaik, so no idea if they got warranty void or anything. But now that I'm finally in the mood of doing the same with my own gear I'm hesitant.

Got me response from a Corsair rep...

So for those curious: you can un-sleeve and/or re-sleeve as long as you're not cutting or re-pinning, without voiding your warranty.

I just went for unsleeving, cba to to resleeve still
