Are there any benchmarks for BF4 running Tri-SLI? I am running BF4 with High Settings @ 2560x1600 on my SLI 780 GTX and was wondering if a 3rd card would help me to get it to Ultra Settings. I mean even if it gives me ~20% or 20 more FPS then for me it is worth it.

I'm on 1440p (409K pixels less) but I've got SLI EVGA 680s on a 2500k and I have no issues with Ultra on BF4. I would think a bump into a newer chipset would help you out quite a bit but then again I could be wrong. I also know that some of the drivers are pretty crappy for BF4 so manybe something else to think about.

Are you win7 or 8? I hear that win8 is a lot better so that is the first thing I will try. I don't think a newer chipset will help that much made 5-10% based on other reviews that I saw. What frames are you getting? I am averaging 40-50fps on ultra which to me is too low. Would like to see it at least 60 on the low and maybe average 80+.

Well i was getting almost the same FPS at 2560X1080P with 2 cards or 3 cards.

What FPS are you managing right now ?

I have the same monitor and need to pickup new cards for BF4 too.

I am probably getting 40ish on ultra and 70 on high. I am seeing some random dips which I hear windows 8 doesn't have based on a couple of reviews I have seen so far on this subject. Waiting for hardocp review but getting windows 8.

780 sli should play bf4 at 1440p like a joke. I ran it maxed out on stock clocked 7950 crossfire at 1440p avg about 70 fps. You should smoke that. Just get win8 or 8.1. Platform upgrade may help get you another 10-20fps or something but your problem is def win7 if thats what you are using. Here we go.

But did you run it at ultra settings 64 multi player server?? I can run high settings on 32 player servers and even get 100+ Fps.

I'm wondering the same. Thinking of picking up a third Titan now that lots of people want to unload them.

Yeah if I drop the resolution to 1080P like that link shows I can get 60 FPS in Windows 7 on Ultra mode. It drops big time when I bump up to 2560x1600. I am getting 40's. Now I am still on Windows 7 and from everything that I have seen Windows 8 is huge for this so that might be the only thing that I need to do.

Well I feel stupid. Somehow I had sli turned off. So I turned it back on and now I am getting 100+ frames. Still get on occasion it drops to the 40s but overall it plays smooth. It will try windows 8.

Drops to 40s likely caused by the cpu. Yes I was in 64 player rounds at 1440p. Got rid of the monitor n went back to 1080 120hz. 1440p 60hz giving me bad headaches.

I would think you would get more frames if you upgraded your proc/mobo/ram. Now I am not saying your CPU sucks...It is a great proc, but getting a good ivy bridge/haswell overclock would benefit you alot more.

Otherwise I would think you are more CPU bound then GPU bound.

Arkanian, did Sli turn off after upgrading to latest drivers?
Sli turned off for me after upgrading as well as a few random times I found it off when going to play Bf4/3.

1440p 60hz giving me bad headaches.

I have to ask, what monitor was it? I've been thinking of getting a 1440p panel. Did you try clocking it up to help smooth things out?

Awesome, good to know :D

As others said is your CPU running near or at 100% ?

Might want to look into an L5639, its a cheap upgrade would probably give you more fps. You'll have more cores and threads which bf4 likes.

Was a Samsung not overclockable from what I could find. Once you've gone 120hz, 60 hz is just discusting no matter what the resolution.

Not sure, I will check this tonight. So is it safe to say that if I am using 100% CPU then CPU is holding me back? Was thinking potentially going IVY-E and using the new Asus x79 Black MOBO but I think I might want to hold off until Haswell-E. Currently BF4 is running just fine for me.

So....
Any actual performance information regarding tri-sli?
Marcdaddy is the only one that posted anything related to the thread title.

I am wondering if a third 780 can boost my 5760x1200 frame rates...

I haven't seen anything except for what Marcdaddy is saying. I know HardOCP is working on a BF4 review, would be nice to see Tri-SLI versus SLI benchmarks.

Arkanian, I did the exact same thing, and we both have almost the exact same setup! Everytime I install new drivers SLI is turned off for some reason.

That said, my BF4 runs very nicely at 1440p in Win7 with my i7 930 and 2x GTX 780s. I had to unpark my cores though, before I did that it was a stuttering mess. So I think I'm holding off upgrading for Haswell-E now, unless a 120Hz strobing 1440p monitor comes out soon, then I'll jump on a Ivy-E and a third 780.

What do you mean unpark the cores? Also what image quality are you running the game at?

Win 7 will park some of your cores when there isn't enough load on your CPU, which I guess is happening in BF4, but then there is a huge demand all of a suddent and your cores that are parked by windows need a moment to start up again. That is at least my rough understanding of it, there are several threads on the subject milling around the internet. I used the utility here: http://www.coderbag.com/Programming-C/Disable-CPU-Core-Parking-Utility

You can also do it manually in the registry as well. Suffice it to say it has worked for many people, though somepeople are seeing no benefit, I can can tell you it made a night and day difference to me. It was basically unplayable before doing this for me and now runs very smoothly. I was almost a little disapointed because I was all ready to buy a new cpu/mobo/ram!

I'm running 1440p Ultra, no motion blur, no post AA, just because both are too blurry for my tastes, it's really not much of a performance hit if you like it.

I've been wondering if 'unparking' cores on a non-HT i5 2500k would make any difference; reading through the comments now, but this seems to be a bigger deal for Intel HT and AMD FX CPUs.

Didn't they recently get a 4K monitor for the test bench? If so then I would think Tri-SLI and Tri-CF would certainly be warranted in testing considering we already know two 290s gpus wont push BF4 to its fullest on a 4k monitor. At least that is what I been seeing from reviews anyway. I doubt two 780Ti cards will push things to the fullest on a 4K monitor as well.

Parked cores made a big diff for me in bf3 on my 3930k and 670 sli setup. Added at least 20fps n my minimums.

Wow!!!!! Parked CPU changed my world! Getting at least 30 FPS extra now. Averaging over 100 FPS with the lowest I have seen at 78.

I wonder if this is why windows 8 does a better job. It is almost like this change puts BF4 on windows 7 on par with windows 8.

Probably. Apparently, there are dx11.2 features in windows 8 which offload some rendering to the CPU. 7 will miss out on this too.

Yes, it will help. I gained about 30% performance in Win7x64 from unparking my cores on my 2500K @ 4.2GHz. Core parking has nothing to do with hyperthreading. It has to do with the OS deactivating cores when they're not being fully utilized thus causing lag when there's sudden demand for CPU. Unfortunately, the way BF4 is coded, it will let the CPU fall under this threshold quite often but then suddenly require the computational power and it causes quite a bit of frame lag.

While I was very optimistic, it didn't do a thing for me. The theory makes sense though. I get the frames, it's just the occasional stutter that I was really hoping this cured.

I've also heard turning off HT on windows 7 makes a big difference. Have you tired that or even tired windows 8?

Yes, the HT made no difference either. I'm getting great frames so no issue there, just wanted to possibly cure the occasional stutter. Not really keen on spending the money and going through the hassles of a new OS just for a game. Thanks for the tips though.:D

I just finished adding my third GTX780 and I'm glad to report that tri-sli works fine in BF4. My GPU usage across three cards is above 90% and I do see a fps improvement over sli.

Damn nice. I am looking into getting my sli 780s to run more than 60% load.... I get almost as much fps on single card compared to sli

They did go above 80% load during the end. scoreboard screen..... :p
